VLOGGERS?

Because things like homophobia and racism are bad traits? It's not like they once didn't hold a door open for the next people 25 years ago. It's not okay to hurt other people so long as it happened in the past.

You're acting like they're bigots still to this day. Something that happened in the past doesn't mean they hold those same views today. People seem to forget that.

I mean, if they would give back to their viewers it would be different. Would it really kill them to do like $25 gift card giveaways to Orlando area restaurants, or maybe a $50 Disney gift card or something? Sure, not every viewer would get something but at least there would be a chance. It's not like they couldn't afford to giveawya $300-$500 per month to their viewers as a way to say "Hey, thanks for giving us this lifestyle".
They make free videos for all to enjoy. Why do you feel entitled to anything more than that?
Vlogging/Editing is not hard work. It's just not. They even talk about what a great time they are having in their videos. All they are doing is filming the vacations/trips that their views send them on. They say "We just wanted to point out that we paid for this room out of pocket" but they don't. Youtube checks pay for that.
They were doing this for years on top of their day jobs. It's not manual labor but it is extra hours that few are putting in. They also stuck with it for years despite earning basically nothing for it.

Yes, it's easier today but their success is built on years of grinding. It's kind of like how a business owner who only manages the finances has an "easy job" when you ignore the 15 years they put in working 60 hours a week building the business.
Dude, flat out, you are a little too obsessed with loathing the Trackers to the point where it's coming off like a primary personality trait. Like to know all of this info off the cuff is... quite frankly, super creepy?
It's incredible how much the people that dislike them know. If they harnessed that energy into putting something productive out into the world maybe they could be "professional vacationers" too.

IIRC the homophobic comment was meant a joke. Poor taste? Yes, but I have seen nothing to show they actually hold homophobic views.

Also, considering Jen's political views (that many here have critiqued)... homophobia/racism really doesn't fit the mold.

I'm a little surprised at the dismissal of the work people put into vlogging.

The dislike I get - there are vloggers I watched once or twice and never watched again - and vitriol on a message board is typical.

But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I've been in entertainment my entire working life - from live entertainment to movies to TV - and so many people don't quite understand how much work it is. Putting together a vlog consistently is hard work.

I'm not surprised. Vlogging, social media management, content creation or any of the new tech industries, are still seen as not a real job.

I will say being a vlogger can be as labor intensive of a job as you want to make it.

There are some vloggers that you can tell spend a lot of time honing their craft and product. Then there are others who are pretty much point and shoot take you along for the ride. The Trackers are the latter, they don't use any fancy editing techniques (because Jenn doesn't know how) nor do they attempt any breath taking cinematography (because Tim doesn't know how). The Trackers have been "vlogging" for over a decade, and you would think over time your filming and editing skills would increase, but they haven't. The only change is going from SD Video to HD Video.

As much as I loathe Michael Kay he does put effort in filming and framing shots to tell his story, sadly his story usually involves his head taking up 80% of the frame.

You don't have any obligation to pay to watch them. It's offered for free. They work within the structure of YouTube, providing benefit to YouTube, and this receive a payment from them. Just like any other contractor getting paid to provide a benefit for another company. If you can afford to give back $300-$500 a month back to your employer to say 'hey thanks for giving me this job', would you? Most likely not. They earned that money. They do occasionally give to charity, such as sponsoring animals at one of the local resorts (and have even vlogged going there), among briefly mentioning others at times. So there is a bit of pay it forward there.

Fewer people would watch them if they talked about what a horrible time they are having in their videos. Their livelihood depends on them having fun. Of course they're going to show the happy portions, or at least look happy. Vlogging is just another form of entertainment. As this is their job, if they pay for a room it IS out of pocket. YouTube checks ARE their job. They're essentially contractors, as I mentioned above. It takes a lot of filming to make a 20-30 minute video. I've dabbled here and there. My arm gets tired, it makes the parks feel like work instead of pure fun, if people know who you are, you don't get 2 minutes to yourself, and editing well does take time and learning. I can play classical piano and make it look easy, but to most people it's not. It's the same for vlogging and editing. It's not as easy as it looks.

These comments are whether I like them or not. Personally, I don't watch their home videos, but I enjoy the park videos. So as a result I've stopped watching about half their videos. But the comments above apply to any vlogger, not just the Trackers. I don't really understand all the hate. If it's something you want to do, and can do better, go for it. More variety is always great and we could use the next big vlogger. The market is saturated, but the really good, quality vloggers are harder to find.

Yep. I shouldn't be surprised. Members of my own family still think what I do for a living (for 45 years now) isn't a real job. I directed a motivational talk show format project that we uploaded once a week for a year. A lot of hard work. Still not finding an audience.

It's absolute sour grapes or "must-be-niceism".
For me it’s probably a little if that. I watch some Disney vloggers here and there and am subscribed to DFB. But watching the Trackers be given access to DVC events when they don’t own and given Club Level access at AKL when they don’t even know which building is Jambo (video showed them getting lost at Kidani)…stuff like that turned me off because their perspective is no benefit to how I plan my vacation. I also saw a video of friends of ResortTV1 where a young couple were filming all around Polynesian, her dressed in a Disney character pajama onesie; and as he panned down, got a glimpse of him walking around barefoot…at a Deluxe resort where people spent a lot of money trying to have a respectable vacation…they are treating the resorts like they are coming in from mowing their lawn or something. I also don’t like live streaming because it gives off panhandling vibes.

It's one thing when you can tell the vlogger is a legitimate fan of the product they are covering.

With regards to the TimTracker they are faux Disney fans, and Harry Potter fans. The only thing they are legitimately fans of is Halloween Horror Nights.

Their day to day themepark knowledge is pitiful, and they are often days if not weeks behind others in providing updates, to which Jenn will say "WE AREN'T A NEWS SITE! SO GIVE US A BREAK" However, if people are using your vlogs to plan their trips, you are doing them a disservice providing outdated and inaccurate information.

I don't thin anyone feels entitled to anything. I'm saying it would be a nice gesture for them to give back to their fans - the people who actually afford them the lifestyle they have. Things like that go a LONG way in keeping your fans connected to you and making them feel like you appreciate them.

And no, the videos are not free to enjoy. Via youtube, I either have to watch commercials or pay a monthly fee.

The content is not free. You either have to watch commercials or pay a monthly fee to youtube. And your "contractor" example is trying to compare someones actual job to another persons side gig. These vlogs are side gigs. Tim Tracker has an actual day job. So of course I wouldn't expect him to give up any of his salary to his fans but thats like comparing apples to oranges. He agreed to work his day job for X price per hour (or salary) and that's what he gets. He agreed/chooses to do youtube for free and has now accumulated hundreds of thousands of dollars per year because of his fans. The two scenarios can't even be compared. There is no reason they can't give back to their fans in some way.

The Trackers are HORRENDOUS in dealing with their fans. They had a PO Box that was flooded with gifts from their fans that stayed unopened for months. The only reason the boxes/envelopes got open was because of the Pandemic and they had no content to vlog. They received gifts for their dog who passed away a year ago from their fans.

Couple that with the fact they are so slow in doing any giveaways...last year they kept getting the Mold-O-Rama figures from Universal for giveaways especially around Halloween and they didn't send them out until spring 2021.

Jenn's editing is atrocious and she claims it takes her upwards of 12 hours to edit a vlog...I'm sorry she isn't Scorcese making a master piece, she's doing rudimentary drag and drop editing that a middle schooler could do.

You don't owe your fans your entire time. They had day jobs up until pretty recently, and were still putting out 20 minute vlogs every day. That is a lot of work.

Why are they obligated to go out and do research? They literally vlog their lives and offer tips when they can. They aren't travel agents or a news site, and if viewers are using them for that type of information then that is their problem. Not everyone who goes to the parks is an insane fan of every IP, and they don't owe you news coverage.

Youtubers don't owe you anything! You're choosing to watch those ads. If you don't think they're doing enough then stop watching. They have zero obligation to give back any of their Youtube money.

There are plenty of vloggers out there who make it very very obvious that their goal is to help you plan your trip. They literally name their videos "Tips for XYZ" or "How to ABC" or "What not to do at LMNOP".
And then there are those who just go places and take you along for the ride and make no such claims.
It's up to the viewers to watch the ones that interest them and decide what they wish to get out of the videos. If you're planning your entire trip around watching someone go to a park, ride a ride, and eat a churro, that's on you, LOL!
Some of these complaints are a real stretch. Hey, you don't like certain vloggers---good for you. But I think other people can decide for themselves.

Wrong try again.

Jenn hasn't had a job other than sitting and home editing in I would say easily 5+ years.

Tim left his regular job I would say at least 3+ years ago.

They owe it to their fans when they say "Hey we have a PO Box, send us cool stuff and letters, and we'll open them on live steams"...if you invite someone to do x, you at minimum have to thank them for it.

Also their vlogs aren't really that complicated they tend to follow the same format, and if you were doing a job for 10+ years you should get better and better at the turnaround aspect....which they haven't.

I agree. Covid made a lot of videos better but theirs got worse. Maybe it's becoming a parent but as far as we can see it was better when Jen was behind the scenes with the occasional visit.
We see this in other vloggers we watch, usually the GF/wife wants to take over the channel almost like they are jealous there partner is getting all the attention.
Watch old Tim it was great when he went alone or with other YouTube friends
