I don't thin anyone feels entitled to anything. I'm saying it would be a nice gesture for them to give back to their fans - the people who actually afford them the lifestyle they have. Things like that go a LONG way in keeping your fans connected to you and making them feel like you appreciate them.
And no, the videos are not free to enjoy. Via
youtube, I either have to watch commercials or pay a monthly fee.
The content is not free. You either have to watch commercials or pay a monthly fee to youtube. And your "contractor" example is trying to compare someones actual job to another persons side gig. These vlogs are side gigs. Tim Tracker has an actual day job. So of course I wouldn't expect him to give up any of his salary to his fans but thats like comparing apples to oranges. He agreed to work his day job for X price per hour (or salary) and that's what he gets.
He agreed/chooses to do youtube for free and has now accumulated hundreds of thousands of dollars per year because of his fans. The two scenarios can't even be compared. There is no reason they can't give back to their fans in some way.
