Thanks I hope the thread stays open and thrives
Seems lately if you don't agree with someone here you get attacked.. Just my honest oppion
Been in this forum many years and this is the first time I ever felt that way..
Thanks for clarification KC Sherry. I don't begrudge anyone for spending money if they feel it is worth it to them. But Pat kinda came at me with guns a blazin and never explained his/her side of it and called me classless for having an opinion that was different from his/hers
Pat you called me classless because I didn't agree with you. Don't you find that kind of ironic. Calling me classless is pretty much attacking me.
Thanks I hope the thread stays open and thrives
So How 'bout them Yankees ?Back to Soiree'..what day are you going again ? I forgot
Here's why it's worth it to me
1. I'll be attending the Soiree on a more crowded night, and so, rather than having to stake out my spot on a crowded sidewalk an hour (or more) before the parade - I'll have a reserved spot that isn't so crowded. I HATE feeling like I'm trapped in a crowd - so there's some value there for me.
2. The fireworks? Meh. I'll probably move to a better spot (where I normally go) so I can watch them without the castle obstructing my view. So, no, there's no value there for me.
3. I have a reservation for the dessert party for the later seating so, while 99% of the party guests are making their way to the exits at 11:45 pm, I'll be making my way to the castle for a Halloween party. For me, there's value in being in the castle at midnight - for Halloween .Have never done that before, so I'm looking forward to the experience. Not to mention, this now EXTENDS my MNSSHP time past midnight - so I'm getting "more" to my party!
4. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE desserts - especially beautiful, work of art desserts, so there's value to me in the desserts being offered. Not to mention - I LOVE cheese. Dessert AND cheese??!! <<Mind blown>>
5. And to crown it all - I'll have the opportunity to meet, interact, and get photos of a half dozen villains/characters in ONE HOUR that would normally take me hours to meet. HUGE value to me.
So that's just me but that tells you why I, personally, found it worth it. I can spend $99 on junky souvenirs that last less than a month - or I can spend $99 for a night full of priceless memories.
Does everyone get the same value? Of course not. I'll never understand the value of staying in a deluxe resort - but I would never begrudge anyone from staying there, or make negative comments about it. JMO.
. Love them for the locations and convenience. You know what I love? Glitter. Some of my best friends hate glitter. It is like the herpes of craft supplies, once you get it you can't get rid of it (not an original quote by me).
But you know what? I have had and will continue to banter or discuss the merits of glitter with others in a lighthearted or even serous tone. What I try not to do is dismiss the feelings or opinions of others.
Yes, I know glitter is a silly example, and trust me, I am also frustrated that I didn't know in advance Maleficent wouldn't be there for us commoners who aren't going to the soirée (sarcasm there people). We will all choose to use our money differently. And you know what? That is absolutely fine. Reading info and opinions from others helps all of us to make sense of the bigger picture. Just because someone does buy the soirée ticket doesn't mean they love everything else Disney is doing. Conversely, someone else may continue to love everything Disney does---even if prices increase and with every ticket you buy one more ticket within a ticket, then another within that ticket, and so on until maybe at some point you get to the closet Jack Nicholson closet. (Story from earlier in the thread)
Bottom line. I like to have the discussion aspect. I like being informed and thinking critically about issues from different angles. So, we can all agree to disagree or whatever, but I also like to believe we can be respectful at the same time. Call me Pollyanna I guess.
*disclaimer. I do get angry at many things and do not live in a land of unicorns, glitter, and lollipops...someday, maybe someday
sooooo.....I just saw someone post on a different thread that they heard from a cm that second seating may get vip viewing at second parade instead of having everyone at the first....anyone hear this? or just another case of a confused cm?

Pat post #927 you said a real classy person was telling you how to spend your money. I assumed you were referring to me since you said something about classy to me in another post. I don't think you were complimenting me. I apologize for calling you a sucker (PT Barnum reference). I am just disgusted that everyone gives Disney such a free pass. They keep taking more and more away and up charge for it. They are charging close to double park admission for like 8 hrs and getting praise for doing it. I need to buy Disney stock. I am not trying to be insulting but they could sell ice to Eskimos. (Sorry if I offended any Eskimos as that was not my intention)
