Villians Sinister Soirée

I was just generalizing. Ok stupid idea may have not been the best choice of words.

Glad you said this. It could really come across like one other poster essentially flat out said the other day, that anyone who bought a ticket is stupid. Certainly can rub some the wrong way, right? They stuck out like a sore thumb to me (and post was deleted) because the bulk of this thread really has been respectful.

We don't all have to agree -- but acknowledging that value is subjective, and that one person's cup of tea just isn't another's, is conducive to dialogue, I think... while some words just get the dander up! ;)

Just the MNSSHP & Soiree on 10/24 Oh and my birthday this Sat where I will spend it with my favorite dog Pluto who is very " real " to this 60 yr old kid and no one better try to tell me otherwise ;)

OMG Happy Birthday!!!! Pretend there's a little party smiley here!! (I'm on my cell) :)

I'm one of the lucky ones here...our base got ours, but not all of them have them in yet. Still a case by case basis for a lot of people, unfortunately. I'm very grateful we live in an area with a large military presence, as that likely helped

haha! This was in the glory days. We had horrible $9 GA standing room only balcony area (some weeknight college special or something), but if you got there early enough you could go down by the dugouts and some players would come talk to you. I totally would have used a FP+ and bought a ticket within a ticket to have that experience! Thankfully all I needed was a brother who had lived in Boston for years. LOL ETA: don't know why my quotes aren't showing up. This was answer to you robpa

Does anyone know if you have an allergy if it is being addressed at the party.
I don't mind not eating anything at all I rather just meet the villians, but can you get the dessert plate minus one or two of the desserts based on a allergy.
Thanks

I would love to know the answer to this too. One of my four daughters has a allergy to all nuts (including tree nuts) so I had them add this allergy information to our reservation. I do not want them to just take several of the desserts off the plate based on nut products in them and give her almost nothing to eat. I am worried that she will be given just plain vanilla ice cream or something basic instead of something special like all her sisters are going to get at this event. If I am paying $99.00 for her to go, she should be given four separate special desserts too that are safe for her to eat. With all the lead time (we don't go until the middle of October), I don't see why the chef cannot create something for her knowing that she will be at this event. If someone could respond back to this I would greatly apprecite it. I am sure there have to be other kids with nut allergies that went to this event already. Thank you.

Just so you know, I was specifically told I could not book it for one. I said no problem as I was looking for 4 people. I then asked if they were refundable as I was not sure everyone was coming. He indicated yes but again reiterated that I could not drop everyone and leave just one person. Again, no big deal as I knew two for sure were going and I was only uncertain about the other two.

They may allow you to do drop one person but this is what I was told - TWICE - in one conversation. Obviously, he could have been wrong about the modification part. Given the fact that no one, I believe, has been able to book for 1 person, I assume he was in fact correct about not being able to book for one.

I booked Oct 23 and 24 both for just 1 person. It was the first morning booking opened so perhaps it has changed.

Great informative list. Thank you so much! We will be in the world in a month and are going to MNSSHP on October 5th, celebrating our DD 10th birthday that day. I am quite disappointed with the removal list of characters and the exclusions, I have to say. But I am glad to know who is still out!! Thank you!

I reserved the event last night for my party because, though I don't really care for desserts, the other two people in my party love desserts and one loves the castle. I just realized, though, that two of the desserts have nuts (pecan praline and pistachio mousse), which the other folks in my party can't eat. Does anyone know if they substitute those desserts for nut-free versions?

At this point it would be best to seek out that answer from WDW. There simply haven't been enough people at the event yet to report back with answers to questions of that granular level. The benefit of a Board like this is that you get the collective wisdom/experience/ranting/praise of thousands upon thousands of seasoned guests. But right now, the VSS has all of a couple hundred alumni in its membership. Not enough to form broad based opinions or to answer very specific questions.

Yeah, I figured, but I was on hold yesterday for an hour to book and I just don't have the time the next few days to do that and was hoping someone else had the answer.

Thanks!

sooooo.....I just saw someone post on a different thread that they heard from a cm that second seating may get vip viewing at second parade instead of having everyone at the first....anyone hear this? or just another case of a confused cm?

That would be AWESOME if it was true!!! Keeping my ears perked up and waiting for more parties so that I have more info!:banana:popcorn::

Tell me if I'm wrong, but for $99 you get:
4 deserts and non-alcoholic drinks at CRT
Meet 7 characters (pictures only. 3 greet you & 4 come to table)
Printed autograph card
VIP viewing of parade and fireworks (in the regular FP+ area)

What else am I missing?

Pat post #927 you said a real classy person was telling you how to spend your money. I assumed you were referring to me since you said something about classy to me in another post. I don't think you were complimenting me. I apologize for calling you a sucker (PT Barnum reference). I am just disgusted that everyone gives Disney such a free pass. They keep taking more and more away and up charge for it. They are charging close to double park admission for like 8 hrs and getting praise for doing it. I need to buy Disney stock. I am not trying to be insulting but they could sell ice to Eskimos. (Sorry if I offended any Eskimos as that was not my intention)

fyi "Eskimos" is derogatory. They are natives. This I know for sure so no debate and no insult to you.

For people asking about the timing of the parade, a couple days ago i switched our soiree reservation on 10/21 from the earlier one to 11:45, and was also told the later parties see the later parade. FWIW, this CM really seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the soiree, unlike some others i've talked to (this was my 3rd call about the soiree).

For those with nut allergies, be aware the bread on the cheese plate is supposed to be walnut bread.

DH has a nut intolerance (not a breathing allergy, but he can't ingest tree nuts or coconut) so we have to watch out for it, too. Since his issue isn't severe, I figure at the party we'll just see if they will switch out the pistachio thing for another chocolate/raspberry thing, and leave the praline off the mousse. At the tomorrowland terrace dessert party we had noted his nut issue and they brought him out his own plate, which was lovely, but he was kind of bummed he didn't get the whole experience, so i think we will wing it this time. Obviously, that's not possible for folks with breathing or other severe issues.
