Very strange

I called the CRO to check availability for the end of April for CBR. All they have is rack rate but she offered me a room for $190 at AKL! Lesson learned, always take whatever they offer immediately...I told her I would think about it, called my husband to make sure he wanted to pay the extra. He said go for it, then of course, I call back and another CR said nothing available - completed booked. Weird!!

So here I am with plane tickets and luckily a confirmed ressie for Dolphin but the hubby didn't want to pay $225 a night for the Dolphin. I know it's an okay rate but he thought if we went economical, we could justify getting an AP. I could handle that logic.

Anyway, just wanted to vent about the crazy reservation system. She did say to try back because there would probably be cancellations. Very frustrating. But I will persevere...

Actually I tried DU first and they came back with a $300 a night room at AKL so that was out. Then I tried on my own which is when they told me that. I just called again (taking your advice) and she was nicer bu still told me that there is nothing. And they keep asking me for my zip code and name. But she told me that it's because I"m already in the system so I guess that's actually a handy feature.

Still frustrated but at least I have the Dolphin (which I did book through DU) so I really shouldn't complain.

P.S. Dreams Unlimited has been really great with responses!

I would try calling again, but don't tell them you already have a ressie or that you have tried before. Rooms open up every day. Have you tried the other moderates? I'd call every day - maybe you can get some of the nights at the lesser rate at CBR and it's very easy to switch resorts while you're at Disney. They'll even move your bags for you. Then after you have the new ressie, you can cancel the one at the Dolphin.

If your check in is after 4/21 have DU go for the code rate which is 139.00 standard view and 205.00 for savanna view. Also ask if they can't get that to try for an upsell.

yep, we're going at $205 a night for 3 nights 4/25 to 4/28 -- savannah view ... yahoo!

We paid so much more when we went last year when the place first opened.

Hello. I am in the same situation you are I have reservations at CBR April 24-28 and want to switch to WL lodge, but nothing is available. I just keep trying hoping something will open up. But I wanted to tell you yesterday I called Kingdom Majic Travel to see if they could get a WL ressies for me and the lady called back and said she put a AKL on hold for me for Apl 24-28 for $210 (thats w/tax). I don't want it though, cause I just stayed there in Jan and wanted to try something else. It was very nice, but I just want to try something new. If you want I can give you her name and hopefully she will give you the resv if the dates are right for you.

I appreciate all the great help. But we actually decided to commit a sacrilege and move across town to Universal. We got a great deal with them and my hubby loves the Hard Rock! We both like Disney better but I also found out some friends of ours are staying at the Hard Rock at the exact same time. So now we have some fun people to walk around Universal with!

So no Disney for us this time but we'll be back, don't you worry! Hope everyone else has a great time at Disney that weekend! If you're looking for me, I'll be hanging out at the Hard Rock pool!
