The Disneyland Hotel Superthread

Can anyone tell me anything about the pool cabanas.
I’ve rented a cabana at the GCH but not the Disneyland hotel.
Wondering what the most current 1/2 day and full day prices are
Also curious about the pods, the round lily pad like seats with umbrellas: how much those are and also while they say they are for a max of 2 people, is it strictly enforced? I ask because we are staying at the GCH in July but maybe at our pool/rest day to be at the DLH. It would be myself, my husband and daughter but not all 3 of us would need the pod, like we would rotate likely
But would they require all 3 of us to have a dedicated space?

These cabana's have way more of a strong arm on me than they should! Hopefully someone can come in and chime in about prices, but it does seem to be a better deal to just do the full day. One of the reason's that I want to stay at the GCH is because of their cabana's -- which I know sound silly to many. I like the set up of the GCH ones and I think it is something I could personally enjoy all day..... I know my husband & 2 kids would like DLH one probably way better!

These are the current prices I found, but then I also found people say a lot of it has to do with seasonal etc. If you want one I would 100% not do a last minute and try to book at that 60 day mark.

This is the pricing I found

But then the other day I found this blog(like I said I spend way too much thinking about these!) and they did a break down of their visit -- click on the Pool or scroll down. They have the prices listed differently & also ones called 'family cabanas. I had never heard of those, but I am wondering if it possibly is just when someone has more people -- like the max of 8? Here is that Blog about cabanas
  • Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Half-day cabana: $475
    • Full-day cabana: $575
    • Daybeds: $130
    • Where to book: Call (714) 635-2300 and press 5

Yes, we got a cabana at the GCH in October and we did a full day
It was $575 for the whole day but we didn’t really need it that long
We got there a little late and left earlier than we needed to, by about an hour and half maybe..

So next time I’ll do a 1/2 day probably

But I’m wondering about the pods at the DLH. Know about those?

Heading to Disneyland Hotel in 14 days. We booked the 3 bedroom family suites. Has anybody booked these before? I would have loved to get the 3 bedroom villas but wasn't available. I am hoping the family suite will be good.
its been a while but it has always been one main king bedroom, a living/dining room and two attached double queen rooms that could be locked off. we've stayed in them several times. we loved the balconies. could watch fireworks off them. usually the rooms have been at the end of a hall. one time it was in the middle but the view was a parking lot and roof of some building. had a little fridge and coffee area in the living space along with a half bath. i'm remembering at least 4 times and all were in frontier building. we usually ask for concierge.

How does it work asking for concierge? Since you have done it 4 times I am guessing you really enjoyed your stay.

we do enjoy but have not been for 6 years. covid and then father got sick and passed. we request it ahead by phone, they can not guarantee is what they tell me. when we check in we again request. they give you the additional cost if it is available. one time we did not get it.

I see so it basically gives you club access and you pay the upgrade fee for it. I am guessing with the lounge being under refurb now its really a hit or miss. How much was the fee to add it 6 years ago?

This is the most recent pricing(it is showing 2024 so I am guessing it either the same or a bit more) I found for the pods.
  • $160 Poolside Pod Full Day 9:30 am-6:00 pm occupies up to 2 adults and 1 child
  • $130 Poolside Pod Half Day 9:30 am-1:30 pm or 2:00 pm-6:00 pm

correct, club access. i think it was $175 per room, but i could be wrong. suites count as one room.
we did have club access one time, a lot of years ago when they had a temporary room set up in the bottom floor. lots more room then they currently have. it was very nice too.

Thats not bad at all. Is that per day?

When we added club level in 2022 it cost $250 a day.

We gave them a call and it was going to be $880 a day to add it. I don't know how anybody could eat that much in a day to justify that cost.
Wow! That's crazy. I can't believe they're charging so much for that. I wonder if it depends on room type or season?

Oh. Well not sure then but this is what they told us when we called to add it

What they told you on the phone is accurate. A major blogger has been mentioning for awhile that the cost to upgrade to CL now often costs more than if you booked it outright.

This applies to DLR, WDW and even DCL.

Current coffee makers in the rooms?
(Not villas)
And also, is the mini fridge a real refrigerator or a “cooler”?
Thanks

Its not letting me quote for some reason, but I would 100% ask when you go at check in about adding Club Level. I know things can change quickly, and also depending on availability etc. But it was seriously around $250-300 per room not very long ago on the 1-3 bedroom suites at both DLH & GCH. One thing I have noticed is really dont listen to what they tell you over the phone things like this at times. I also think *and this could just be my own little internal dialogue that isn't logical!* they don't like to really encourage it over the phone beyond the actual CL specific rooms. I think the people at the reservations line are amazing -- probably the best phone support anywhere -- several different agents have made me happy teary eyed. But they have told me info that differed A LOT when it comes from things like this and things like cabana and other rental type things. I have seen several times people over the years people being told over the phone that it is per person and not per room.
