Oh I have been hearing about this and now the wife of one of the officers has gone into labor.

My brother is on the sheriffs dept. in Dunnellon, Florida. I think about him alot when things like this happen.

Oh my gosh, this breaks my heart. We have so many police officers in our family and I can't even imagine... I actually feel sick to my stomach reading this. My prayers go out to those poor families.

Not sure what the laws in Fl. are regarding the shooting of a police officer. However, as the mother of a police officer, I would volunteer to flip the switch on these sleeze bags.

Ughhhhhhhhh. This is just horrifying. I have a family members in law enforcement (my youngest brother is 3rd generation police), EMS, fire fighter, and I work in a hospital and had a patient who was an officer shot in the line of duty (and the guy who shot him was brought in right behind him, shot also). My heart breaks for their families, children growing up without their dads, a poor woman about to give birth, young widows. I can't even imagine the dread they felt when the phone rang or there was a knock at the door early this morning. It is SO sad and SO not necessary.

I totally agree. I feel for the familys they left behind. And the little baby who was born on the day his or her father was murdered.

Just an update on this..

The female that was wanted has been found and is in custody. The manhunt continues for the male suspect. I think every available law enforcement in the state is here looking for him...whats scary is this is a hard reminder of a few years ago when we lost a K9 and his officer in a slaying, and it was a 2 day manhunt that did not end well for the suspect...Southern Justice ya know..

The female that was wanted has been found and is in custody. The manhunt continues for the male suspect.

Unfortunately, she was let go after an 8 hour interview...so sad and the longer it takes to find him the less of a chance they have.

why do we need another thread? This is not takign anything away from praying or helping the families, this did not need to happen and should not have happened.

Another outraged reader here. No disrespect intended, but I don't think one can post something like this and not anticipate that there will be some outrage expressed. Some are shaken to the core. Especially those of us with loved ones on the job. Praying for the families of those brave men.

I have been touched by a LEO killed in line of duty (Uncle) I was just afraid if we kept going on about it the LEOS eventually lose the the attention and the perps are now the focus...that's all I was trying to say...perhaps I should have said that to begin with
