We were there about a month ago, and the beach was great! We walked the beach every morning. Have a great time on your trip!

thanks so much for posting your pics. Doesn't look bad at all. I am really looking forward to lounging around in my swap chair, reading a good book and listening to the waves.

Maybe sooner than later though... not a good time to be buying ocean front property. :sad2:

:beach:

;) Hmmm are you trying change my mind about a vero add on?

we are all really looking forward to this trip - it can't get here fast enough. Now hopefully our "vero curse" won't strike again. Nearly every time we are there we are hit with a tropical storm or a "smaller" hurricane (cat 1).

Ok - now I am an official member of the Vero Beach Adoration Club! We just spent a week there -- I never dreamed we would have such a good time! The pictures all of you painted were perfect. We LOVED IT!

SquidLips--- OMG!!!! We went there twice! We thought it was rather amusing, however, they they celebrate Cinco De Mayo by marking to "When the Saints go Marching In." It was so much fun -- wonderful time -- wonderful food!

Now, unfortunately, we are at the Radisson in PC-- it's not bad -- but compared to Vero Beach????? But tomorrow we get on the ship for Panama Canal cruise. So, one down day won't be bad. In less than 24 hours, we will be on our way! YIPPEE!

Once again -- can't wait to get back to VB -- a small slice of Heaven.

Going to VB June 24-28

Starting to get very excited. Also starting to research into the area a little bit. Will be there w/my brother, sis-in-law, and 4 year old nephew. I am starting to read thru this thread but it is looooonnnnggg. My brother has asked about local restaurants in case we want to leave the resort for a meal, and my sis-in-law has asked about shopping, me I just want to take my alternative beverage and find a spot on the beach:beach: :drinking1 ! Any suggestions would be great.

First, gotcha added to the roll call.

Second, see you there. Currently there are 8 other DISboarders there during the time you will be there.

Third, here is a link to a restaurant compilation done by Mia. Scroll down to post #343. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1713110&page=23

Hi Rob:wave2: Why is your week of June so popular? Is it any different than say the first two weeks or the last week? Just curious....so many people go in June.

We picked that time because for sure the schools would be out, even with make up days for snow.

Precisely, DD (Rebecca) is coming with us this time and she works at school into the 2nd week of June, but we just never know about snow days out here between the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains. So we played it safe and chose late June. We might otherwise have picked early June. June and November are my favorite months for VB.

Hi, Rob, we've booked a "last minute" trip for August 15 - 22 at VB :cool1: DH insisted he had to have more VB!

I think one of my questions got lost in the shuffle...

Has anyone golfed at Vero Beach...Do they have any courses to recommend? My son and husband want to go golfing, although with the new baggage restrictions, my husband is rethinking flying is golf clubs out. Which is a bummer, because he hates rented clubs, but it's not worth it for the one or two times he might golf during the trip.

Do they have refillable mugs at Vero like at the Disneyworld resorts???

Yes they do. And unlike most of the other resorts they have a self-serve refill station (just adjacent to the pool bar & grill).

I think the mugs make great sense at VB. Since the beach is right there you can hop up from the beach and refill as needed.

Thanks!!! Do you know if the mugs are the "Year of a Million Dreams" ones like at WDW or do they say Vero Beach Resort?? I would really like to have one that says Vero Beach. I had started collecting the mugs as souvenirs from the resorts before Disney changed them.

They were generic on my last visit in 2006 (seems like 10 years ago). Our first mugs were VWL. We loved those and used them for years. The new mugs are just too bulky and like others say you can only keep so many before if becomes meaningless. Disney ought to have recycling bins for them for as many as probably get thrown away that's a lot of plastic... not the right type of plastic to put them in the plastic bottle recycling though.

DH had a question about the coffee?? He is wondering what type of coffee is served from the liquid refill stations. He loves the coffee at POFQ and was wondering what is available at Vero. Thanks to all you experts.

Any word about the fires at Vero? We're leaving 5/23 for a MUCH NEEDED vacation and I'm getting nervous!
