Are there any good places for steak near Vero Beach? We plan on squid lips one night, and we are going to WDW for a week, but the one thing my plan is missing is a good steak place.

We'll be there Monday til Wed. and it's our first time. I'm so excited to hang out and relax and take it all in!!!! Wish it was for longer but then we head over to SSR for our first stay "home"!!!!!

When we were there in April, we were told by the bartender at the Green Cabin that the best place was the Longpoint or Lakeside? cafe, I am sure if you ask someone at Vero they will know. Anyway it is about 7 miles north on A1A on the west side of the road, not much to look at, but very clean. We took a boys trip and went up to try the famous Blackened Grouper Eggs Benedict, and it was fantastic, by far one of the best meals we had. In fact took some others back there later in the week, and even though they were out of Grouper we had Copia instead and it was still great.

NEED HELP !

My ds decided to come down to Vero and see his sister off to college with us. His initial decision back in Feb when I made the VB reservations, was that he would say his "goodbyes" from home. I just got off the phone with Member Services and there was only 1 room available for 8/13. I need 8/11--8/14. I asked about a cash/rack rate for an Inn room (no DVC discount was available) and it's $180/night BEFORE tax. Ouch.

So....now I'm looking to room my ds at a hotel nearby. He's 21 and will be fine. Either that, or I sneak him in our room with an air mattress and I just don't think this would be comfortable for him.

So my question......does anyone know of nearby hotels ? As close to Disney's VB as possible ? Thanks for any help !

Maria, Have you thought about waitlisting? There might be some cancelations that would open up some rooms. I know when it gets close to the one month mark, I sometimes shed a day or two off our reservation. Perhaps others do the same. Make a refundable reservation nearby hotel as a backup and see what happens.
