Exactly what I thought! I went to Youtube and watched what was available on this and in the pictures the girl is smiling the whole time! AND that includes when she is on top simulating sex.

I listen to Akon and I wouldn't expect to go to his concert and do the Achy Breaky Shuffle,heck,I don't expect to go to a club and do a line dance--dancing for quite some time now has been all about going as far as you can without going anywhere.

People are taking this way to far. Let it go. He did nothing wrong.

no I don't think Akon was in the wrong here. You choose to go to a show like that. You are supposed to be 18. So you are sneaking into an 18 and up club, dance with the talent (who thinks you are at least 18)in an explicit way, it turns up on video and you complain.
Listen to some of Akon's songs. You couldn't expect it to be a mild performance

I agree. I would never go to one of his concerts. Ewww. Not my cup of tea Obviously, there is an audience that enjoys that kind of thing. Oh well. If they are adults, go for it They are not bothering me or infringing on my freedoms.

With that said, what the heck was a 15 year old girl doing at that show?

I don't think any of it is "okay". I find him absolutely vile which is why I would not be caught dead at one of his shows.
I just disagree that this was some clueless, innocent girl.
I believe he assumed she was of legal age. I still think it's disgusting but what consenting adults( again, I think he reasonably assumed she was a consenting adult) do is not really my business.

But, again, some people are into stuff like that. If they are adults and consent to it, who cares?

Not for me, but people watch porn all the time. People go to Sex Clubs and Fetish Clubs everyday.

Has anyone been to a dance/night club lately? I would say many if not most of the people dancing are simulating some kind of sex when "dancing." Yes, Akon is crude and sexist but that is what people know of him.

This girl knowingly went into the club knowing it was over 18 and knowing that Akon wasn't going to be singing from the Sound of Music. Is this appropriate? Of course not. I have snuck into clubs when I was underage and I snuck beer when underage. I know what was going on and what could happen and that is part of the appeal.

I am generally prudish. I don't like when entertainers are raunchy on stage. However, I think when a minor misrepresents themselves they need to take responsibilty for their actions. Fifteen is old enough to know right from wrong and nobody forced the girl onto the stage. Maybe the parents should take some of the responsibilty for not knowing where their child is.

I have a 15 year old DD and I think if she ended up in a situation like that, she'd know EXACTLY what she was doing.

I cannot view the video from my office computer to see how it looks, but I agree that the 15 year old probably knew exactly what she was doing and probably enjoyed the attention she got from being onstage with Akon (until her parents saw it).

The point is, though, that she misrepresented herself to the club, to Akon, etc. They assumed she was a consenting adult.

Acting or not, Prince did many of those acts on stage for many years. Akon is an adult. He is 25.

The girl snuck in to a 18 and over club with a very hoochie outfit. She never said she was underage. She never walked away.

His songs are on the hoochie side, so I would understand completely that type of behavior on stage.

Consent? She knowingly went into an over 18 club. I am shocked that you are making her out to be so innocent in all of it. Surely, she is partly to blame for her own actions. It's not like she ran off stage or even resisted in the first place either.

In some states 15 is the age of consent to have sex. I understand why you think he was wrong but he was performing in a club for people 18 and over. How was the guy to know that she wasn't 18? If he was performing in an open stage in a park for all to see that would be different but he was performing in a club that is techinically for adults. This girl PRETENDED she was an adult. She could have also not got up on the stage. How the heck would she have told her family she won a trip anyways? "Hey, Dad, I was shaking my booty on stage at an 18 and over club and won this trip."
