Vent About My Dad

Every time my dad cooks pudding, he makes extra and brings me a bowl. :cloud9:

I lived with my parents for quite a long time -- until I was 27. I didn't go for that whole "your food, my food" thing. We all shared food, and when one of us cooked something, we offered it to the rest. That's what families do.

Maybe it's time to move out. :confused3

Come on, you had to know that was coming.

Maybe you need to label your food....specially your puddings! :rotfl:
I did have my initials on the box, which is a trend my mom started, (apparently she gets annoyed at my dad for eating her food too.)

That was my understanding when I made my last post. Dad sees pudding - dad believes child has eaten a portion of pudding - dad eats the rest as his portion.

Now I want pudding! The 22 year old finally moved out to her own apartment. Maybe I can get the 14 year old to make some instant? :)

I think your dad likes it the same way! LOL Honestly, as the parent of a 22 year old I have to side with Dad here... there are so few opportunities to actually get something good from your kids at that age! :) When my children were younger I never would have said this. Live and learn.
I actually am pretty good about sharing, just last night I had steaks, and he had some, as well as leftover steak tonight, (and some steak I bought last week I shared too.) So he's had steak three times since New Year's, that I bought, and he had to eat the pudding too. It's more that he ate all of it instead of just some of it that I'm annoyed at.

I just made a box of cook and serve pudding, and came upstairs while it was cooling.

I just heard my dad downstairs scraping a dish, went down to check, and he had eaten the whole dish of pudding! All four servings!

He just isn't capable of feeding himself apparently. :headache:

So now, I either am not going to have pudding tonight, which I really was hungry for, or I'm going to have to go out to the store, and get another mix, which I really don't feel like doing.

Next time make instant and take it with you! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

you cook pudding?

Oh my poor Angel! :rotfl: ;)

Please dont think I am making fun!!! I just am not the cook pudding type, thats all. In that token, many here would be amazed I can make the instant, thats all!

 I am shocked I tell ya! :teeth:

Wow, I thought I was going to see a vent about your dad. I'd say if the only thing you have to complain about it is your dad eating your pudding, I'd say you have it pretty good.

Speaking for us dads (I have a DD7), even though we may occasionally inhale our daughter's freshly made pudding, never doubt for a second that our daughters (and sons) are the loves of our lives. Forever.

I agree! You never stop worrying, and you never stop loving. You do, however, get to occassionally have the simple pleasure of someone leaving fresh pudding out on the counter!

It's not too bad, but every once in awhile there's an issue, and it usually has to do with my dad thinking he's entitled to whatever he wants.

My DH says this all the time. If its in the fridge or the cupboard...its fair game. If you want it eat it. I hate this since obviously you cant eat everything at once, but im pretty sure ive tried on occasion.

I agree with you, since another poster was so kind to point out, I've had this issue before. There is no way to not keep food in the fridge, unless I eat everything as I buy it or make it, and that just isn't going to happen.

My mix, (and also my milk that was used with it.) It is his, (and my mom's house,) but I do pay rent, so it's not like I live there for free, and I don't see how that should give him a right to eat all of my food anyway.

Well if you are a "normal" family then you have no leg to stand on. He (and mom) supported you for years and years.

Well my point was kind of that unless you get your own fridge and keep it locked then expect anything in a shared fridge to be fair game and not there when you go back. Thats how it is here.
