Dining Plan purchase issue

Second leg of split stay starts Wednesday so more than 48 hours away yet DVC website showing 7 dwarfs. When I go to purchase for a trip further away it brings up the purchase screen so it does seem to be working. Is the system thinking the two split stays are linked? Both have different reservation numbers and different contracts being used. Can't figure it out. Only thing I can think of is that I had MS ask to keep me in the same room. Maybe doing that makes it seem like 1 reservation in the eyes of the computer and therefore thinks I'm within the 48 hours?

I think your guess might be right. Possibly the request to continue staying in one room caused something in their internal system to treat it as a continuous stay.

I had something similar happen to me a couple of weeks ago. We strung together a last minute 2 night stay but had to stalk which ended up with 2 seperate reservations at the same resort for the nights. Over 48 hrs b4 I tried to add the DDP to the first night and got the 7 dwarfs. I could add to the second night though. We didn't want that so I ended up calling MS and they were able to add for the first night. A little more work but we got what we wanted.

Slightly different than a split stay but similar enough that I'd try chatting or calling MS.

When you ask for reservations to be linked as a continuous stay, so you can stay in the same room, the system will see it that way.

Even without it, if they are on the same membership, then they have merged when you check in and they require dining plans for both parts.

It’s to prevent people for booking individual reservations to get around having it for the entire trip.
