VDH Opening

I really love these boards. I'll admit, I can be wild on the speculations and love to be refuted with hard cold numbers. I think VDH will easily sell a million points in its first year, maybe even 2 million.

My take:

• 1mil in a year seems very reasonable. I'd bet they sell even more than 1mil in the first year.
• 2mil in a year is an unlikely stretch, but I guess not impossible with a perfect storm of pent-up DL-DVC demand, rave reviews, attractive points charts/incentives, and the right macroeconomic conditions.
• 2mil in 6 months, before it opens for any stays, would be mind blowing considering the resort will only have roughly 3-3.5mil points total. They'd start planning for (or more likely, accelerate internal plans for) DL-DVC-3 immediately. They might even start construction without planning! You'll just see execs pointing at random places to dig.

I'm just teasing because I no longer walk down lovely Harbor. If I was the owner of Candy Cane, I wouldn't sell for a billion!!! haha.

A new "NY NY" type of DVC on that whole corner would be cool though.!! (sort of High Rise style like Vegas overlooking DCA... only like 5-8 stories though)

At Marriott's Grande Vista, the ratios are roughly: 1::1.35::2.2. At Harbour Lake it is 1::1.4::2.3

If 1BR were only 1.1-1.4 times more than the studios, we’d stay in them much more often. I just can’t stomach the cost of paying double so I can have the privilege of doing laundry and cooking food when I’m supposed to be on vacation.

Yes, it does seem crazy that a 2 bedroom is more than double what 2 studios cost.

not a bad idea. I can't speak for those other hotels in that section but man, Disney has to be peeved that private investors snatched up that real estate.

The way things go in Anaheim, I might never get to enjoy a Disneyland expansion... and I'm in my 30s

I wonder why they made the balcony in the 2 bedroom come from the primary bedroom (while the balcony in the 1 bedroom villas is off the living space). I could see if staying with immediate family that a dedicated 2 bedroom would work fine and if staying with friends you might want a 2 bedroom lock off so 2nd bedroom people don't have to come into your primary bedroom to access the balcony.
