On a recent thread asking about the surf school offered through the resort, I responded that DS attended on June 7. Cost through the resort was $90 if I am remembering correctly. You sign up at Eb and Flo's.
It is conducted by an outside source.
They pic participants up in the resort lobby then drive them to Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park.
DS left the lobby at 8:45 and returned around 12:30.
He and one other boy around the same age attended. DS is 14, 15 next month.
He had loads of fun and really thought it was a worthwhile experience. He liked the hands on approach and felt the instructors did a good job.
learning to surf
learning to stand on a board
DS was nuts about the instructors loud swimshorts! He wants a pair too.
Out into the water
Success, he catches a wave!
The instructors were nice to take our camera and get photos for us. In hindsight, we should have driven over to watch. DS said the park wasn't very far from the resort.
They had snacks for the boys--all you can eat snickers bars and lots of water and juice, DS's kind of food!
He felt very confident out there in the water. He has even asked us for a board, for next time at Vero.
Any questions, I will try to answer. Hope this helps someone.
