Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

Hi Karin, I just got home from work and thought I would see if you had posted anything. I love the beautiful pictures you took of the parade and the fireworks over the castle. It sure is getting me excited for our trip on Friday! We are getting ready to pack our suitcases tonight.

It's been two very stressful weeks since we have returned from WDW and there wasn't much time left for DIS fun! ;)

Wow! You are leaving on Friday! I hope this is going to be a super magical trip for the two of you!
:thumbsup2 for starting packing tonight - nothing makes a trip more real as when the suitcases come down!
Can't wait for your trip report!

How did I get Tuesdays off this year?
Teachers here have to do 21 lessons per week in a classroom - depending on your timetable you might end up with a few "windows" where you can prepare for lessons or do whatever pleases you. If you do not have any "windows" in your timetable you are free to spend your preparation time at home.
That said, in our school everyone has at least 1 afternoon off, most of us have 2 and some even 3.
I am one of the very few who prefers a morning off instead of an afternoon as I like to go to doctor's apointments and other things in the morning in my spare time. This year I was extra lucky as I got a morning AND an afternoon off and our headmistress/principal made sure they both fell on the same day to save me some time driving to and from school. :woohoo:

Wow...I'm telling you, we Americans work entirely too much. My job would feel so much more do-able to me if I could just have one afternoon off a week! :goodvibes I can dream, I suppose! You're lucky to have such a great schedule. Mine is brutal. Think eleven-twelve hour days, five days a week, and then sometimes I go in on the weekends, too! :scared1:

Needless to say, it all gives me a reason why a trip to Disney in February is so completely necessarry!!! Even my fairly frugal mom thinks so.

The next few photos are especially for Dave! ......... his new found "friend"! :lmao:

There's that mocking wave again. She looks so mean...LOL! :rotfl:

Compare your picture with this shot I took in Nov 2009. Similar pose, no? I tell you, she is mocking me!

Tina, I was stunned to learn about teachers in the US, first from you, then from Mary Ellen, who told me a few things about her daughter in law and her son, who are teachers too.
It's not like teaching would not be stressful here too. Instead of correcting and preparing at school we do it at home at our own pace and we take as long as it takes, which sometimes means that we prepare all weekend long and if there are big tests (6 per year) you can wave your weekend goodbye as well.
Not everything is golden here! ;) But I do enjoy my day off and all the vacation time we get. :thumbsup2

Loving your update, great pics of MEP, can't wait to see this soon :teeth:

Yep, all packed, thank god. Hate packing so much I tell you!

AGREED!!!!!!!!! It's amazing how many hours we work in a day, isn't it?

But it's all for Mickey ......... he needs that money you earn in those long hours that you slave (work) just for him! ;) :rotfl2:
Sorry, just could not help it!
We are amazed how long hours some of you work to make a decent living, my friend's daughter and son both hold 2 jobs to make ends meet. And her son is a teacher too!! :sad2:

EMH at MK sure is great. We didn't get to see much of the MSEP, but we enjoyed the bit we DID see.

I kind of regret not going on the Peoplemover on my trip. I was just so darn tired and ready to leave for a break. It's on my must-do list for next time for sures.

I love the fireworks photos you got! Just lovely!

Great few updates Karin!!!!

The food from via napolli (spelling?)....... oh my gosh we will deffinetly be trying that next time!!!

:woohoo: birdseed bread from the wave!!! (long-story-short, that's what I call it!) Like you, I'd gotten the prok tenderloin. Everything was very very delicious, but those sweet potoatos..... oh I could eat BUCKETS of those!!!!

Great pictures of wishes and MSEP!!!

If you did not get to see the whole MSEP, then that is something to put on your list for next time you go to WDW. It really is worth seeing.

We love EMHs at the MK! We did go on the jungle cruise a few more times during the evening hours and always had a skipper who had us in stitches!
The Peoplemover, as old and slow as it is, is one of my all time favourite rides, you can people watch and ride through Spacemountain - there is nothing like it! :goodvibes

Thank you, Kelly!
Could falling behind have something to do with the word beginning with sch...? I am sure it is the reason I am falling behind! ;) :lmao:

You are SO going to love Via Napoli! The food is to die for - very authentic too! We even changed a Tutto ADR to Via Napoli, because we wanted to go back so bad!

Birdseed bread :lmao: I must keep that in mind! :rotfl2:
That pork was delish wasn't it and the salad and sweet potatoes - oh my! Could I have some now, please?

Unfortunetly yes :sad2: between homework and dance I've had barely any free time :worried:

The risotto fritters looked especially good!!! Deffiently on the list now (that and sushi from Japan. Did I mention none of the restaurants that the guidebooks promised had sushi did? Grrr.....)

Very much agreed!!! Disney food is the best, I DREAM about it everyday!!!

We traditrionally do Planet Hollywood our first night as Judy isn't up to the Parks the first day due to ear trouble with flying!!So we may do a water park and definately DQ that day!!

Looks like a funfilled evening. I love evening EMH's at MK. Something about being there late at night is so magical.
The parade pics are beautiful!

I think you need to go over to my PTR and read the last page. I have very exciting news! :thumbsup2

I did go over to your PTR - what an awsome upgrade! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

Kelly, you are a girl after my own heart - you love and dream about Disney food! :lmao:

It's been a bit stressful here too, but, the start of the school year always is!

The Arancini, the risotto fritters were SO yummy! We decided to get an ADR for our February trip at Via Napoli and since we won't have a DDP we can just "taste around" and get a few appetizers and a pizza to share!
If you go there - try the fried ricotta balls with the dark chocolate sauce - to die for! :cloud9:

I hope your plan works out - as on Aug 22nd we will already be on the Disney Dream!
We will have a car, so wherever you stay we will be able to meet you! At the moment we are booked at Pop too! It would be fun if we stayed at the same resort, but we still have 10 months to go, and I LOVE turning things around! :rotfl2:

The parade pics are beautiful!

EMHs at the MK are the best! Especially late at night when the "crowds" thin out! And there is something especially magical about the MK at night - must be the castle! ;) :goodvibes
