Valentines and Stuff

A couple of years ago, I went back to my father's boyhood home and discovered an old scrapbook filled with valentines that he'd received as a boy. These are really cute valentines from the 1940s.

Anyway, it got me to thinking about the valentines that DS receives at school. Last year, I picked some of the best out of the bunch and saved them for his scrapbook. I personally find modern valentine's very ugly, but they will be a reflection of the time in years to come. I wish I still had some from my own youth--don't ask when that was .

My grandfather was born around 1880. My mother has an album full of greeting cards and valentines that he and his sister had received when they were children. They are really fun to look at.
