Vacation Tips for Women! :)

I love BE and can't wait to see what products they come out with this year with spf 30 or more :thumbsup2

I too have very fine oily hair. I must wash everyday and if there is any moisture or humidity it goes flat. I've tried so many products to add volumn to no avail. I used to go the perm route, but perms don't last long in my hair either. My dh insisted that I look better in long hair, which meant it ended up in a pony tail or barrett. Finally about 6 months ago I got a short hair cut and the stylist only used a razor to cut it. It added so much depth and it is so easy to care for. It looks great even without styling it. I have had more compliments on my hair over the last 6 months than I have in my entire life. It's fun to have a current, sassy hairdo that looks great and is easy. Google razor haircuts for women and maybe one will strike you.

Thank you! I found a couple that may work for me. I plan on trying something new. I went red awhile back and I loved it because it makes my hair look and feel thicker. But Im thinking it may be time to go back to light brown with highlights for summer- I am a little worried that red+ Florida sun may = ORANGE :scared1:

Here is the BM 30SPF stuff I was talking about:

How is the bare minerals on sensitive skin? I have looked at it but my skin is so dry and sensitive to breakouts I hate to spend the money if I cant use it.

I also have sensitive, break out prone skin and bareminerals has been heavenly for me! I use proactiv so it dries out my skin a bit so I use neutrogena senstive skin moisturizer and then apply the bareminerals afterward and it works like a charm!

How does the proactive work? I have looked at that for years but never took the plunge. Where does everyone buy their bare minerals?

Thanks for the link!! Will look for the SPF 30. Did you try light? I may try medium.

The new John Frieda line for blonde hair & highlights is amazing, it has made a difference in my hair tone & it's only been a few days.

I always bring feminie hygiene products, even if I'm sure that its not my time. Nature has a funny sense of humor.

I have fine, thin, hair. I have found a mousse by Gefden. I LOVE it.....when I curl my hair, it keeps all day! I also have a spray spritz that I use that sets it. People think that have permed my hair when I up do it!
But I always take hats and such, because no amount of mousse, spray, or magic, can keep my hair the same after SPLASH MOUNTAIN!
As for foundation, my Elizabeth Arden has been a staple for many years. LOVE IT

DearDaisyinDurham: Thank you! I checked it out at Sephora :goodvibes I think that this product is designed for the face. I am ordering it anyways because it sounds like something I would really like. But I am still on the look out for a moisturizing body spray if anyone has info on that !

Thanks Daisy!!!

I went to Bath and Body Works yesterday and one of their new products was a moisturizing body spray :)

They offer a discount punch card through the store. They also offer starter kits that seem to be a good travel size! I buy the bigger containers and keep refilling my "travel set" for trips. I agree, you should go in and have them help you pick out the right tone for you. There is a Bare Minerals store inside MCO as well :) I love this because there isn't one near me :( so it's the perfect excuse to visit Orlando every 6 months :rotfl2: oh I know there is a store closer. But do I love saying "but honey I am running out of deodorant (I buy that in Norway at Epcot) , soap (LUSH) and makeup- time to go to WDW" :lmao:

Another tip for Bare Mineral lovers- i have really oily skin sensitive skin- and am very picky about my make up brushes. I have tried Mary kay, the reg Bare Minerals brushes, and a whole host of other brushes that have all ended up in the trash. I LOVE The Body Shop's Mineral make-up brush! Their version of bare minerals sucks IMO but the brushes are SOOO SOFT! Plus it is small and compact, great for travel. It is a little like the Bare Minerals Kabuki brush but it works allot better IMO.

The Body Shop also has a peppermint cooling foot cream foot spray that work wonders on tired sore tootsies.

There is a B.E. store inside MCO? :scared1: Where is it located? My boyfriend isn't going to be too happy about this one!

Thanks for the Body Shop brush rec's. I've been looking for some good brushes to use with B.E!!

I love John frieda! I used it before I got hooked on Aveda- but I may have to switch back for the summer-it smells amazing.

I use Medium for the SPF, just because that is the shade of foundation I use and I was a little tan when I bought it. I have not tried light though I probably should I am a pasty shade of WI pale right now :lmao:

I thought I would share this tip...Walmart sells Secret's Clinical Strength in a travel size for $2.47 (in my area anyways). The regular size is over $10 so if you want to try this out you can get the travel size. It is also a great size to pack as a carry on or in the parks.

Izod golf skirts rock. Got mine at Golfsmith, love them!

Too faced lash injection tubing mascara. DOES NOT COME Off. :cloud9:

By philosophy: shelter and supernatural. Tinted spf primer. Cover with some powder foundation. Face is protected and looking good!

For all you ladies out there who are scared Aunt Flo might start...If you are on birth control just skip the placebo pills and begin taking a new pack. I have done this for years with no problems. Because I have endometriosis it is actually doctor's orders to do this now but I have been doing it for about 5 years before I was diagnosed.

As for the part in my hair getting suburned, I just use a touch of whatever sunscreen I have on hand and very lightly apply it to the area. I have super thin hair so if it works for me it will definitely work for those who have thicker locks. Speaking of which, a lot has been said on here about curly hair but those of us with baby fine hair suffer too. That humidity really kills whatever small amount of volume you can manage to put in with products in the morning. I have straight fiine hair so if I leave my hair down, I end up looking like a drowned rat. I would love to hear if any ladies with fine hair have tips on how they style it. I ususally french braid mine into pigtails or pull it up with a jaw clip.

Body Glide is wonderful!!! I use it on my feet with my sandals because I can't stand to wear tennis shoes in the parks. I recently went on an all day outing to the zoo with it on my feet. I had absolutely no blisters.

Spary sunscreen is the absolute best and gradual tanning lotions work wonders for those of us who look like Casper the ghost.

I did this last year and I ended up bleeding for 14 days straight maybe I did it wrong but I finally stopped the night before we left. I looked at the calender and I am scheduled to start a few days after we arrive and I have server backaches with my periods I dont know what to do I am scared to try it agian any ideas please Idont want to wear black shorts my whole trip..lol

Wow! Didn't know I had a twin on the boards! I have been taking my pills straight throo since 2004. No problems. though I do wonder if that isn't the cause of my hair thinning so much...:confused3 In Disney, I also pull my hair back into a pony or a jaw clip but would love some ideas. As for shoes, Crocs Cleos are the only ones for me (can't stand hot sneakers in the park). No blisters and like walking in bare feet!

Hi ~ posted this on the Makeup Clique thread also but a few product reviews :cheer2:

Went to the land of Sephora last week & picked up a few new products :cloud9:

Have also been meaning to mention a few tried & true products so here's a quick (albeit kinda long) list

Hair -

Shampoos/Conditioners - Using the sulfate free shampoo for colored hair & alternate with John Freida's purple line for keeping blonde highlights true, works great as does Big Daddy by Lush, purple with a gorgeous scent
Separate review of Moroccan Oil line below

Product - GOSH's Salt of Mine Wet n' Dry spray gives a beachy look & it's so easy (read idiot proof as I go for low maintenance spending time on hair)

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal - just a bit after the shower makes your hair silky & speeds drying time - have a bottle that came w/ Big Sexy Hair's Spray & Stay & would def buy it in the future - it has Argan Oil so I alternate using this & Moroccan Oil

Moroccan Oil - bought a set that had the oil shampoo & conditioner, paddle brush & matching bag for all - hey I was in Disney so you can always use an extra tote bag - not sure if the S&C are for me but I love the oil of course & the paddle brush is excellent

Sprays = John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear looks so pretty smells good overall the definite choice also Loreal's Elnett Satin & BigSexy work well

Oscar Blandis volumizing dry shampoo spray works well & smells great

Skin - Yves Rocher has plant derived products that are EXCELLENT
currently using Celluar Renaissance line & it WORKS also their Dermo Line correction line is amazing - I am in my early 40's & NO crows feet & just one forehead wrinkle so it works like crazy

The Body Shop has a couple lines that I alternate depending on the season, their Rose line (vitamin E) & their seaweed one - right now I'm trying the brand new Nutraganics & like it just fine - their 'trial' kit was $35 but it's money back guarenteed & their trial sizes last me two months so a good price for the entire line (plus there was a free gift)

Neutrogena ultra sheer spf 70 on my face (I am Irish) and 45 ultra cooling on my chest & arms with a 15 on my legs works great, I have color but don't burn

Self tanners - DuWop has a new one - clear revolotion - which is glimmering & goes on a light blue so it will not turn orange, haven't tried it yet but will let you know - the product rep was in store & was very convincing so we'll see - then rec'd a free sample of Clarins Delectable Self Tanning Mousse with Mirabelle Oil - put a tiny bit on my face this am so we'll see :cool2:

Nails - we have a super nail care line in Canada, Witchcraft & it's a cult favorite especially great for healthy cuticles

My friend that owns a spa swears by china glaze & I am lucky she sells me whatever colors I get for my pedi at cost so my pedis last a good long while

Makeup - love it but don't wear much, think I already covered the SuperNatural by Philosphy previously - that & Nars Super Orgasm :lovestruc

Am a huge lip gloss addict & fresh sugar pin up is probably my favorite

Mascara - just bought the new Revlon Grow Lash so we'll see other than that I love Great Lash clear

Oh and bath stuff - LUSH is still the best! I do like Basin but LUSH bath bombs are by far the best. I do love Basin's fresh milk & ration it lol.

ohhh & also want to add - I ALWAYS wear softlips w/ spf 15 or 20! as it's clear, it goes on under my lip gloss & I even will swipe it over my eyelids, under my brows, etc if I feel I'll be getting extra sun such as an entire day at the beach
