Any DVC runners ever use the golf course cart paths for early morning runs? :cool1:

How early is the first tee time.

Maybe I should wear a helmet :duck:

Yes, you can use the path or the sidewalks. First tee is 7:00 am, however, the maintenance crew comes out at 5:30 am.

We were just there this last week and we saw a few runners using the paths. I don't think you'll have to worry about golf balls though as the golf courses (all of them) were dead. In fact, DH asked the ferry driver if that was normally the case and he said because of such low demand for golfing, most of the courses are only open two days a week.

I'd suggest not using the path's during the normal golf day. Flying golf balls can cause serious injuries. And you can't expect the golfers to watch out or wait for you. Sure, they WILL wait, when they see you but now you have held up the entire course. And the real danger is that they don't see you (ie, you're around a corner or behind a tree as they start to hit) and then you come into view as the ball is already in the air.

OKW is near the very start of the LBV course, so the golfers will show up within about 30 minutes of the first T-time. The first T-Time will depend on the time of year. During the busy periods (and summer is NOT one of them - its too hot in FL) you can expect the first T-Time to be just after local sun-rise; perhaps 30 minutes or so.

For me early is the crack of dawn!
Last year I ran around the lake at BCV/BWV and watched the sun come up.
It was amazingly peaceful and quiet. Quite a contrast to the parks.
As long as there is enough light to see the path.
They probably don't golf in the dark, so I don't think I need that helmet!!!
Wouldn't dream of using the path when the course is active.
Too dangerous and it would be interupting the golfers.

Thanks for all the replies.

Don't forget the path from OKW to DD. You could run on that all day if you wanted to!

There are signs posted saying the paths are only for the use of golfers.
