Does anyone know if its possible to use a recorded song to be played at SBP?? My df really wants our first dance song to be played using Ipod/CD as hes picked it for the lyrics, being played instrumentally just does nt have the same effect.

The only area so far hes really taken interest in is picking all of the music that will be played. Hes very in to liking songs for the lyrical content & is a lot more romantic than me, id be quite happy to have Nirvana played:laughing: . When i said i think this may not be a possibility he was nt too happy. Hes said that our ipod speakers can be battery powered so we could always use them. Am hoping this is something that will be ok to do

I'm pretty sure you can do it...but as you noted you will need a battery powered option. There is no electricity at SBP.

I know that you definitely can. I had asked my coordinator about this. If you are just using the music for a song and not your processional music you can use the Ipod or CD I think its $250.00 but you have to have a guest work the Ipod. If you are using it for all your music (your processional music) they suggest a sound guy to assist so that your music doesn't sound choppy. I belive my coordinator said it was about $700 to $800 dollars.

I asked my Escape WP this and this what she told me, word for word...

"If you would like to have pre-recorded music from an Ipod or CD, I do NOT recommend using it for any part of the ceremony itself. You can use it for the cake/champagne toast.

We can have an Ipod speaker set-up for $250.00 plus service fees so it comes out to be $316.25. You would need to have one or your family members or friends to operate your Ipod.

You can bring a CD player or Ipod speakers yourself-please be sure they work on a battery."

So, there you go! Hope that helped! We plan on using an ipod with our own speakers, for the cake and champagne because it's actually the words of the song we're using that mean a lot to us! :thumbsup2

i was also told that i would be able to provide them with cd's that they would load into the sound system in LSS. i'm not sure if this is true as i didn't use this option, but you might want to check with them.

Do they still charge you the $250 fee if you get a guest to press play for you on ipod speakers we provide ?? We would nt need them to set a system up for us as we ve already got one. Ours comes with a remote so it would be a case of somebody with us pressing play. Theres no way we re willing to pay $250 for just once song. Its to be played during our reception not ceremony so am hoping this wont be a problem

I'm almost positive that if you bring your own equipment there is no charge, just be dure it runs on battery, which we know Ipods do anyway. Just be sure it's charged. That 250 is for equipment rental and it's a bit high, but if you have your own, great!
