I have been hoarding US cash for when our (Canadian) exchange rate is bad like it is now. Do vendors in Citywalk and the parks take cash?

If not, would the best way to use cash for purchases is to pay cash for USO gift cards and then use those to pay for everything?

Yeah - almost all places take cash. There are a few places that are Mobile order only - maybe 1 or 2.
I'd recommend the gift cards when you get there - you really don't want to be carrying around cash for the most part.

Just be sure to buy the correct gift card - there are merchandise gift cards and dinning gift cards - just to make things more confusing.
BTW - the gift cards and cash don't work for mobile orders so that is a bit of a pain.

Also its always possible they will stop taking cash - SeaWorld has done that. They sell a pre-paid credit card. Visa I think.
They may also convert more places to mobile order only - there are a lot of benefits to that for Universal.

I do like the mobile order option overall - but since it does not take the gift cards its a bit of a PITA.
They need to fix that.

Many of the quick service food locations are mobile order only, so no cash. We did not realize this last spring as it had changed since our previous trip. I had a lot of issues with the app on our last trip and being able to add my card. The quick service places were not at all accommodating to just let you order at the counter and pay. They are not staffed to have someone taking orders.

It’s not the employees’ fault and I was never rude about it, but it was incredibly frustrating to not be able to walk up and just order. After that first day, I realized the app needed to be updated and then we were able to mobile order.

Agree with this - would be so nice to add a gift card as payment using the mobile app. I do like the Mobile app ordering - it worked very well. My daughter has celiac disease, and the option to add an allergen alert when placing your order was a nice feature to have someone from the kitchen come out to confirm the allergy and that whatever you ordered was suitable.

It’s puzzling why they haven’t figured out how to add GC to the mobile app.

We ate at Blondies last visit end of January, watched multiple parties argue with staff there who wanted to order/pay in cash.

They don’t get paid enough to deal with that.:sad2:
