Us, Food, Drink, Friends, and Sledge (Hijack update Disney and Napa Rose 12/16)

It's a glass of wine with every course plus champagne or sparkling with the amuse. 6 Glasses and we all split a end of dinner drink! The wines they pour are wonderful and I think you could split one pairing if you asked. I have seen people do it!

Sounds great, thanks!

Bumpin mah friendie kabooooookeeeeeeee becuz her food report is awesome fun and it only gets better from here. :cool1:

I come back from Vegas and find a mess o' fun here! Now I can post the same pics, different angle of all those hilarious V&A shamelessness! :rotfl2:

While we were in Vegas, I told Catherine that we need a girls' trip there. I'm picturing V&A silliness on a grander scale. When I got my foie gras fix, I said out loud, "Suck it, Disney!", since WDW banned the stuff.

Day 4 Out late with Friends so what do we need?! That's right more food booths!

So with a later start Jason and I are back at Epcot to proceed on our eating adventure!

This time it's Greece who opens early!
WDW2009foodandwine477.jpg

• Greek Salad with Pita Bread $2.75 Boutari Moschofilero $3.50,
WDW2009foodandwine478.jpg

WDW2009foodandwine475.jpg

This was a large portion and was REALLY SALTY! I like salt but it was a bit much!

Next up Canada-
WDW2009foodandwine481.jpg

I usually avoid Canada like the plague! The smell that comes away from that booth at some points about kills me - strong fishy smell on a HOT day is not the making of a happy me! I also like the Cheddar Cheese soup but I think I am also over it. Jason looks at me every time I say this like "keep it down or we will get kicked out of the park!" but I can't help it! This year we heard rumblings from our friend Jay that the sausage was good so .. here it is!

• Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup $3.75
• Spicy Chicken Sausage with Sweet Corn Polenta $3.75
Paul Bosc Estate Vineyard Chardonnay $4.25

WDW2009foodandwine482.jpg

WDW2009foodandwine483.jpg

See the soup - don't take away my Disney membership we had it! :rotfl2: It was the usual soup, cheesy -pepper goodness!
The sausage was GREAT - I have to say thinking back it was one of my top three of the festival! I loved the onion jam they put on it, the polenta was good and the sausage had a good kick to it! Great hang-over food! :lmao:
The wine on the other hand tasted like AMMONIA :scared1: It was horrible! It was a dumper!

After that it was back to Mexico for -
WDW2009foodandwine484.jpg

• Tostada de Pollo (Corn Tortillas Filled with Chipotle Chicken) $4.00
• Mousse de Piña y Coco $3.00

WDW2009foodandwine486.jpg

The Tostada was a good crunchy beany fun filled couple of bites!
Jason loved the Mousse - it tasted like coconut whipped cream!

Back for more later!

Glad to hear you liked the Canadian snausage ... now that I think it about it there were a lot of sausages at the Festival this year. Someone on the planning committee must have an oral fixation. :lmao:

On the planning committee? I think the person supervising the food at Disney has one thing in mind at all times! :rolleyes1
Do I need someone to post a meat straw picture again!:rotfl2:

I knew I could blame you! :rotfl: Next year if you are going at the same time as Jason and I you can do PFTS with us and our friends! We would love to have you along!!!!

Aw, thanks Chelsi, I would love to join you for PFTS! My tentative dates for next year are Oct 6-16, give or take a day or 2 at either end. I think you said you already had your dates for next year so let me know what they are and hopefully we'll overlap some:thumbsup2

The rest of your V&A dinner looked great. Seems like you all had a little too much fun! That's another place I'd like to try one day.

Your food booth pictures look good too. Makes me miss the F&W festival :sad1:

Hey! We will be at the Festival the 30th of Sept to the 10th so we will have some over lap time and maybe we can do a PFTS but if not drinks or booths or something!!!!

We miss it too.. every time I walk in the morning I feel like.. now why is the Ditch not right here?!:rotfl2:

Well, we may have a DISmeet in the making again. My tentative dates are 9/25-10/3. I have a DIS friend who is running in the inaugural Food & Wine Marathon on the 2nd and we plan to be at the Party afterward in Epcot that night.

Really! What was up with sausages & meat straws this year?!

I think it was Bendy's Jay sending everyone in the direction of true food porn this year?! :confused3
He told us about the Canadian sausage & may have mentioned the german sausage as well! He sent TigerKat( & thus myself) in search of that HUGE veal shank/meatstraw at Citrico's! Mmmmmnnnn :confused3 just wondering?? :rolleyes1

We may have to rethink my F&W dates for next year. I was hoping to get in on the ditch-meet but we were thinking mid-Oct. again.

YES! It is all Jay - He's the one! He's so unassuming but look at all the evidence! :lmao:

We picked our days to get more time out of our year pass! This is why the early dates .. DITCH MEET! I hope we can over lap on some time - Now we just have to get Brenda and Jay to stop in for at least a night from the boat trip!!:rolleyes1

Oh yes the more I think about the more I blame Jay! I mean very nonchalantly mentions, the Canadian sausage, the veal shank, etc., etc. But now I do think there was a mischievous gleam in his eye! ;)

I'll check with DH on our dates for '10. We are good on our passes, just renewed them to get the 15 month deal.

Thinking of October 9-18 but I will probably end up doing weekends again - work probably wont' let me off that long.

COOL! We Will have to start this ball rolling! Maybe the day you get in would work?!

That would be more likely my dates due to the typical work restrictions for my vacation time. More like Oct 9-17 for me, though.

Well .. lets try for on day cross over at least!:thumbsup2

actually it might be better for me to wait until the events are released if I'm booking weekends, but if everybody wants to do PFTS on Oct. 9 that can be arranged - that way I would know I can have at least one weekend at the Beach Club (it might be full by July.)
