On with the food -
I had the Niman Ranch lamb with Fresh Cannellini Beans Cassoulet

This was really good but the wine with it was AMAZING! a baby amarone! Baby lamb - baby wine - GET IN MY BELLY! I want my baby back baby back.. oops sorry!

Jason had the Veal Tenderloin with Potatoes and sauce soubise!

See the little tiny meat straw? It was no Citricos but it was good!

Hi Chelsi! I am really behind, so let's see, what did I miss. PFTS looks great and it seemed like the wine view lounge worked out pretty well. I have never been to PFTS but I think I just might have to try that next year. In the past no one wanted to go with me (too expensive...) and this year I just wasn't sure how I would feel doing it by myself. Well, I guess I have a while to think about if I want to try it next year.

Nice pictures of Brenda's party! That was a really fun night!

I've never been to Hollywood Brown Derby but your food looked good. Honestly that it my least favorite park and I don't really spend too much time there anymore so I know how you feel.

Sounds like you all had a lot of fun at V&A. Can't wait for the rest of the review

Oh, I'm probably the one to blame for the cold weather. After all, it was just as cold last year when I was at F&W so I definitely think it's me I'm sure since I complained about it being cold these last 2 years that next year I will be there for a heat wave

Somehow I missed the meat straw that night ... Too much wine, I guess.

I wonder what the staff at V&A would do if someone asked for the Citricos meat straw instead? "Could you replace this please? It's not of sufficient size to satisfy my meat goo needs."

On with the food -

V&A Should have meat straw envy after being at Citricos! Really? Look at Shovans picture earlier in the post! It's magnificent in a scary way!

V&A Part 2

I am back and we are on to the CHEESE! Jason and I both got this, I know something else was offered but when I hear the word cheese the rest of the "or so and so is offered" sounds like Charlie Browns Teacher - wa wa wa ..

Colston Bassett Stilton, Couch Farms Goat, 36 month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Epoisses (or as I called it stinky socks!)

All were great but for my true love you can't beat the Stilton! It was perfect!

We all got the coffee - I guess now they offer a billion kinds but we went with what they serve with the dinner. It's really good!

We have all seen it before but it's so cool!

Time for dessert - I usually let Jason pick what we get for sweets because I would rather have french fries - I like starch and salt and he is the sweets person! See why we are together?!

So he picked the trio of chocolate for himself -
Tanzanie Chocolate Pyramid, Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle, and Peruvian Chocolate Ice Cream on Puff Pastry!

Our favorite out of the three was the thing that looked like the chocolate eye lash! The ice cream was wonderful!

My dessert was Meyer Lemon and Blood Orange Purse with Blackberry-Violet Sherbet

I have to say the purse wasn't very lemon at all and just really sweet - I loved the sherbet - it tasted like violet candy!
At this point we are 4 hours into our night and they bring out the end of the night sweets - I am sure they were also thinking "are they leaving yet?" It's not that we were obnoxious - we were just laughing A LOT! Most people ate and left, some hardly looked across the table at each other!

These are the get the heck out candies!

Then Brenda pulls out gifts for all of us! Chocolate Cigars!

Very amazing rich dark chocolate so we had to have after dinner drinks right?

Here I am with everyone's drink!

Brenda being the best penguin from Batman she can!

She is too cute and funny for her own good!

and another reason all the girls and my husband loves themselves some Jay!

5 1/2 hours later we all are full of food and booze - but I have to say it was the laughter that made my sides hurt! I am so happy we did this and so grateful to BriarRosie for setting it all up and making it happen. She even had Happy 40th on all us 40th people's menus! Very thoughtful and sweet! I feel that Jason and I made real friends on this trip which is something that is hard and rare to do!

More later - I am off to buy Booze at Costco! The holidays are coming and we are low!

2nd course I had the Main Diver Scallop with Zellwood Corn

Perfect scallop - beautiful and sweet!

Jason had the King Salmon with Asparagus,Crab and Bearnaise

I knew Jason would get this when I saw the menu - "does it come with a rich sauce? I'll take it!"

How do you decide between the scallops & the king salmon with really rich sauce OMG they both look to die for good!

It's a glass of wine with every course plus champagne or sparkling with the amuse. 6 Glasses and we all split a end of dinner drink! The wines they pour are wonderful and I think you could split one pairing if you asked. I have seen people do it!
