URGENT HELP- Hollywood to Disneyland late at night??

forgive my being dense... what is red line? if its at the theatre i am intrigued as this may be a better option

Red Line is the subway line in LA. I have not taken it personally since I always drive to LA. But I hear it is very nice. And it does have a station across the street from the theater and a station at Hollywood and Highland (Kodak theater, Chinese theater, El Capitan, Disney Malt Shop etc). I think there is also a station at Universal as well but I could be wrong.

If chosing between a town car and taxi take the town car. Taxi's are not as popular here and it will be harder to get some Taxi's to drive so far you might have to wait longer to get one that will, since they most likely will not have a fare to return with. I would especially go with the Town Car since they are nicer and from some ones numbers here look cheaper. You also can use the Town Car to sight see as well.

I live in North Hollywood (in the San Fernando Valley) and worked at a theatre just up the street from the Pantages in Hollywood. Unfortunately I don't have a specific answer for getting back to Anaheim other than paying for a cab or a towncar. But if you want to get back that night, that's defintely your best bet. I wouldn't be too scared about walking around there at night -- just follow the rules you would in any big city (don't have large amounts of cash in sight, etc.). But as far as the area around there goes, it may look a bit gritty, but it's not all that bad. No one will bother you. It's defintely not a reason to give up those Wicked tickets!! That show is amazing! So I would say go and schedule a cab to pick you up. LA isn't really a "hail a cab" kind of town like NYC is so you will want to call and make a reservation. I think Super Shuttle does special pick ups like that so you may want to try them. Oh and by the way -- tell the driver to take the 101 to the 5 and straight to Anaheim -- that's the most direct route, and that way you will know the cabbie isn't taking you through a bunch of backroads to drive the fare up. Good luck! And don't worry -- LA isn't scary, it's wonderful! I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, then lived in an even smaller town in Minnesota and then moved to LA. And I have no intention of ever leaving here!

1 other option is to rent a car from Enterprise and pay the Extra money, $25.00 a day for 21 year olds, to drive it and then do your Hollywood Day and Wicked evening and then drive back to DLR. There rates are really good. This what my DD 21 did.

There is a Enterprise Office on Katella by the Cheesecake Factory. They Pick you up to go rent the car and take you back to your hotel after you return the car.

Note that it would be feasible to get to Wicked via Amtrak (or Metrolink) to Union Station, then the Red Line from there, but getting back at 11pm is the big problem - Amtrak doesn't run a late train back to Anaheim. This option would probably work for a matinee.
