Upgrading Hoppers to AP's ????

CAn the park hoppers be partially used to upgrade or must they be new??? WE are planning a trip in April with some of our kids...now DH wants to go as a LAST family trip over the summer...oldest DD will begin college in the fall so it is likely that this would be her last trip with us all!

I understand you only pay the difference in price.

I have some hoppers from our last trip, I know there is one day left on each of the two I found, (great find in the back of a cabinet!!!! : ) ), but must the hoppers be unused to upgrade??

I've never done the upgrade that you are thinking of doing but here is my understanding. You can only upgrade a hopper to an AP within 7 days of its first use. Then they will apply the full purchase price of the hopper towards the AP and the AP will begin the date the hopper was first used. It's usually a better deal to use your unused days on old tickets rather than upgrade them. The reason is that you probably paid a lower price for an older ticket and by upgrading, you are paying any price increases that may have occurred since you bought the old ticket.

Well, you CAN upgrade your old hoppers after 7 days, but as Sondra said you may be better off financially to not. If you do choose to upgrade, they will prorate the amount left. For example, if you have a 5-day hopper that you paid $200 for and one day is left, you will get $40 toward the AP.

You can use the one day towards AP's. I think this is the only time I woud use hopper with leftover days towards an upgrade.
They need not be new to upgrade.
