Cards are already maxed at 1k each except for 1- but it's for when we are there and am still sniffing out gc discounts to put on it before we go. Will give this a try and report back how it goes in case anyone else here doesn't want to wait on hold for 1 or 2 or 3 hours just to make a payment.

Hopefully that will work for you. I will say we’ve never had an issue paying with GCs at the beginning of our trip, even after checking in online. If there was a charge/hold prior to that it eventually got cleared out and I know my end of trip credit card bill was exactly right.
I think the main thing with GCs is to be careful with charging back to your room, as they will bill your credit card every day for any charges incurred, so you need to make sure you close out your bill at the front desk on a nightly basis if you want to pay with GC. Don’t pay with your magic band and it’s not really an issue.

They don't charge everyday. They charge your card once you go over the amount of the hold for the resort level you are at. So if you do that daily, then they do charge it daily. But again, they can reverse the charge to your card and apply the gift cards, though it's easier to either pay with gc instead of your mb or to pay it down before you go over the hold amount.

On my CVS Chase offer, it said that it didn't apply to the purchase of gift cards. Did yours say the same thing?

I think it works anyway, but I'll report back. Others have said it works. At least it was small amounts.

I’m about ready to renew my Annual Pass. The renewal is more than $1000, the maximum a Disney GC can hold, and you can only use one GC to pay online. Does anyone know - if I call (and endure the horrific hold time), can I pay using two GCs?

How long do you think I can wait to buy my park tickets?? Our 1st park date is Nov 28 (yes just over 1 month away). I need six, 6 day tickets (4 Disney adults and 2 kids). I still need about 2k in discounted gift cards! Plus another 1k to pay off our room balance. I can get the tickets thru boardwalk ticketing at a 6% discount. But my discounted gift card savings is usually between 10-15%. But im running out of time!

I plan to do the Sam's egift card deal on Nov 25 and get 1k which would pay off our room balance. I don't think I should wait that long to buy tickets...for APR purposes. But it might be worth it if I can wait???

Also some data points...topcashback had 8% off shopdisney...I purchased a $50 gift card. The purchase tracked but shows $0 payable.

I purchased some Disney gift cards from raise when they had the 7% off sale. Went thru Rakuten for an extra 1% CB. The purchase shows as pending in my Rakuten for the correct 1%.

Rakuten has 8% CB at Shopdisney. I purchased another $50 disney gift card. I don't expect it to track but we will see.

Another consideration: Disneyland just raised their ticket prices. You’re a “surprise”announcement away from Disney eating into your discount with a WDW ticket price increase.

Admittedly this risk is lessened by the fact you can probably buy your tickets from Boardwalk (or similar) for the old cost for a short period afterward if you are on top of things.

I bought my tickets from Boardwalk to get park reservation days done and ADRs at 60 +10. Using gc's to pay for AKL stay- and right now we have just enough in gc;s left to cover the balance due. Still have to call in and pay it off- am putting it off because I am not looking forward to the hold times. Like you are doing I will buy the 1k from Sam's to cover TS meals as soon as they become available- as we get there 11/26. IMHO it isn't worth waiting to get the tix if you are making any ADRs at all. Park reservations between Thanksgiving and Christmas shouldn't be an issue since that is a slow time of the year- but with the US opening it's borders again I expect some of those coming into the US will be going to WDW making what is usually a slower time in the parks quite a bit busier. Doubt there will be enough influx from foreign visitors to max the gate allowances but I personally wouldn't take the chance if you can buy the tix from BW.

This was very helpful. Need to buy two American Girls dolls and haven’t really been able to find any hacks to save, so this is like ~7.5 percent off and I can still use a cash back portal for 1% on their website. I’m a little reluctant to use the Visa gift cards for other things where I can get higher points with my credit cards, but there’s always some things you just aren’t going to do better than the minimum points.

For those of you looking for stack discounts for gift cards, this is a GREAT deal. I bought some of these cards the last time they were offered and was able to turn around and buy gift cards (mine were for Universal). Your mileage may vary with Disney and BJs/Sam's on Black Friday, but if it works, you are really making out! And, frankly, if it doesn't, you just use the Visa cards and anything you buy is 10% off.
