I'm confused on the walmart Paypal offer. I have a $50 physical gift card in my cart. When I go to paypal it says it's applying the offer. But when it goes back to Walmart it says the total is $50 and asks me to place my order. Is that right?

Yes. Walmart will see the entire amount. PayPal will show the discount as it's their deal.

I have called Paypal about why I was charged $500 and not $450... they told me I need to talk to Target... I called Target and they told me I need to talk to Paypal about it (which is what I assumed as the deal was on the PayPal website).

Calling PayPal back and getting transferred 3 times, someone there confirmed these are "One and Done" deals. Because my first transaction was cancelled through Target.com, and I had to try a 2nd time on each one, the deals were gone with the first one. "Nothing we can do about that" - "Once you click the 'Use Offer' button, that is it, your one chance to use it."

So I will not be trying the Walmart deal a 2nd time. Nor will I be using Paypal checkout for that matter.

Whatever, so I paid $1,000 for two $500 gift cards, at least I get the 5% cash back on Discover this month, like I would normally get on my Target Redcard. I just hadn't planned on making a $1,000 purchase for this trip yet, it was just that 14.5% off was too good to pass up.

I had the same thing happen to me the other day, where my card was charged the full amount. I got an email a little afterwards from paypal where they put the $50 into my account to be used on my next transaction, and so I just bought another $50 GC from target and got it for "free".
