Reservations for Epcot Candlelight Processional Dining Packages begin 10/14

After a lot of stress trying to figure out what backups might work for a bunch of picky eaters with frequently contradictory food preferences, I was able to get our first choice (Garden Grill Breakfast for all 8 of us) with literally no issue for Dec. 19th! Even got a time that I think should work for both our rope droppers and our sleep maximizers 🥳!
Good to know… seems like you were 60+1 or 2 like we will be. We book this coming Monday for Dec 20 or 21. Hope we get something we like as well.

FYI, since there's been some conflicting discussion here re the ability to modify CP packages, thought I'd share my experience.

1st tried chatting with DVC MS, they indicated that they couldn't directly access the dining packages & suggested I call WDW dining, direct

i had no problem doing so!🎄

a 12 min wait time & CM was able to change our le cellier CP package, adjusting it from 4 to 2 pp & keeping the same show time.

I did receive a new conf # that is appearing in my MDE.

I definitely suggest to call in & modify vs showing up @ the restaurant

good luck to all!

Hmm, I wonder whether it depends on which restaurant or on which night or performance, or they’ve changed the policy. I called Dining the other day and was told most definitely that in order to change from 3 guests to 2, I’d have to cancel and rebook, and I’d lose our desired date and performance time. When did you call? Today?

Exactly that happened to me in a previous year. Seems like it depends on the CM. I have also heard of people who showed up with fewer people and were charged… full price not the $10 penalty… for the fewer diners. Feels like there really is no policy. Dumb luck… or not.

I phoned DVC and talked with a cast member named River. She fixed me up from 6 to 5 people immediately. I’m wondering if some CM’s are more knowledgeable than others. If I got a no answer, I would phone again and try a different person at MS

I was unable to get a reservation for 2 people, so I had to select 3 in hopes that I could modify it. Unfortunately, I could not. I called Disney Dining to change it from 3 people to 2. The cast member was also unable to modify it, but put a notation that my reservation is for 2 and would not be charged for 3.

Just to confirm, DVC member services was able to change this for you (not Disney dining)? TIA

Update: just called DVC membership services and they changed our 3 person reservation at Le Cellier to a two person. No problem at all.

At least 10 restaurants per show have availability on the 20th for 4 people right now. Be on the app right at 6. I've said this before, but this thread is long. I go to reserve dining, filter to Epcot and click on the packages.
I always search candlelight and then after selecting CP, i select reserve dining…

Is there a reason you are recommending that approach instead?

It makes no sense to me either
They must know a system work around of some sort. Given that new reservation numbers are given, it’s definitely different than just changing the number in the party, which many of us have done online many times (and retained the same reservation number).

Anyone else MDE show no reservations or “something went wrong” currently? My booking time is in two hours and everything linked to my account is gone

Literally everything we try this morning (two laptops) is not working... just gives us an error and kicks us out. "Sorry your session has timed out and it has been released".

We have also both tried our MDE accounts in the app.

Yep, nothing works. Just releases my reservation. There is a massive AWS (Amazon Web Services) data center outage for the entire East coast. My bet is that Disney is impacted by this.

Oh good that means a fun day at work!

But yeah I wonder if that means nothing is getting booked? I see stuff disappear... I can't believe if ANYONE is getting through that we haven't gotten at least something across two MDE accounts and going to our phones or laptops. Hopefully something clears up.

Edit:

Finally about 7:10am I was able to get Le Cellier for 4:30pm (8:15pm show) for Sat Dec 20! I’m happy with that. Would have preferred like 5:30-6pm but oh well.
