Updated B2B tips/ideas

Our last b2b was Oct/Nov 2022. We were not let back onboard until noon. What a wasted day. Had to sit in the terminal for 2 hours waiting. We are doing another b2b the end of this month 4/29 and 5/6. I hope it’s not the same. We did several b2b cruises before covid and always got back on about 45 minutes later. I’ll post back.

That might be because of a Coast Guard inspection. When one happens, they can’t have anyone onboard except employees. Unless something goes wrong during the inspection, the only guests impacted would be the B2B guests. In your case however, everyone was impacted since they started boarding around 30 minutes late.

Regarding the debarkation/reboarding process for B2B cruisers: sailing on the Wish in late January, we were instructed to leave the ship at 9:30-9:45 am, taking the yellow card provided with the letter explaining the process along with our passports (or photo ID and birth certificate) and the port arrival form for the second cruise. There was no group meeting. Once off the ship and through immigration, we walked outside, reentered the terminal showing our yellow card, were quickly checked in, and directed to wait in a seating area that actually had signage for Waiting Area for Back to Back cruisers. We reboarded the ship about 30 minutes later. I think the group meeting might depend on the number of B2B cruisers booked on a particular cruise.
Hello, you mention that when you disembarked the first cruise, you took the yellow card provided with the letter explaining the process along with your passports and the port arrival form for the second cruise. Did they provide you with special port arrival form or is this the port arrival form that you printed out when you did your online check-in 30 days before the cruise? Since people doing back-to-back cruises are the first people allowed back on the cruise, does it matter what PAT time you get when you do your online check-in for the 2nd cruise or do they hold you to the PAT time as it is listed on your Port Arrival Form? Just trying to figure out if I need to get up at Midnight to get the earliest PAT time I can for the 2nd cruise or if that is unnecessary. Thank you.

You should print the forms for your second cruise. You'll be required to select a port arrival time when you check in for the second cruise online, but the actual time that you select doesn't matter. As a courtesy to other guests, it might be best to choose a later time.

For the second leg, you can disregard the PAT entirely - you’re at the port already - and simply follow the procedure provided on the last day of the first leg to get back onboard.

Good advice. I will do that. Thank you.

Ignore this post. I can't figure out how to delete it.

When do you get the port arrival form for the second cruise? Can you get it at the same time as checking in for the first cruise?

You're supposed to print your port arrival forms before you travel and then bring them with you to the port. You can also get the QR codes digitally, but I don't trust my phone to work when I need it to.

No, you have to wait until the normal check in date for the second cruise, 30 days prior to sailing date. Don’t worry about the port arrival time or boarding number, so you can wait until the morning rather than having to play the midnight check in lottery.

Please confirm, for b2b cruisers, does the coffee that are additional cost in Cove. Is it actually complementary during the time before the ship opens back up after 11am?

Yes, it's all complimentary until the other passengers start boarding. They usually have some food, too.

Wonderful, I'm going to try next time as it would my 2nd time doing b2b but on Wish this time. Of course first time was the Dream, but was too busy to get everything in. 🙄 🤣

Well, my information is accurate as of February, 2022 on the Dream. I guess I don't know if the Wish is different somehow.

We've only done one B2B on DCL. Treated the day like a port excursion. Had a taxi pick us up and take us where we wanted to go. Asked him to pick us up again a few hours later. We boarded toward the end of regular boarding. Just a thought.

I’ve done Back-2-Back on Magic, Dream, Fantasy and Wonder.

Will be doing Back-2-Back on Wish April 21st-24th and 24th-28th

Interested to see how it goes this time

We just did our first back to back on the Wish. If you want to keep the same servers let the head server know. Check the app and make sure you have the same table number OR go early to dinner. We had an issue that our table/servers had switched. It got fixed but was a little bit of stress that first (second cruise) night.

That a head server fail. On all our B2B, the head server came around on the last night of the first leg to ask if we wished to keep our serving team or get a new one. Table numbers and serving teams get moved around between cruises, so keeping the same table number is not a guarantee that you’ll keep the same team.

That’s been our experience as well. On our most recent B2B, on the Wish in January, we requested and kept our serving team, but we had a different head server for the second cruise. Apparently, they also get rotated on occasion.

The head server did come around and ask, but it still got messed up. We did end up with the same table number (they even told us we would but maybe that’s was just a coincidence). Either way, if you want the same team just double check when you get back on.

Great Info. We're doing a :tink:B2B for the first time. We haven't told our daughter :rolleyes1 and don't plan to until we're aboard. Now I know the head server stopping by may be how she finds out unless we intercede. :stitch:

Cruise 1 is May 13-20 San Juan-San Juan. Cruise 2 is May 20-24 San Juan-Miami. Magic is our favorite!:mickeyjum
