Animal Kingdom Part 3

So after Clara finished her jumpin jacks we decided we would split up and take turns riding EE. Even though Clara was the youngest of her brothers, she was the only one who would ride roller coasters or any fast, high, or loud attraction. So my SIL and DN rode with Chi and Alpha while Nathan and I stayed behind in Dinoland. Then they stayed with the non-riders while Nathan and I took Clara and Omicron. Right before we got on Nathan asked if we could switch co-riders since he was having so much fun with Omicron explaining every detail about the ride. I laughed and said sure. Then right before we boarded he said "Oh BTW, Clara is a screamer. You have fun!"

Stinker.

In spite of Clara's screams, I still loved EE. That is my favorite coaster of all! It was even better than I remembered. After EE we met back up with my DSIL and DN and split up again. They only had a few hours left before we had to head to the airport and they wanted to do some shopping. Nathan and I took all 8 kids through the park to get some FP for the Safaris. I am sure we got lots of looks because we just looked like a big (Jon & Kate big) family!

The FP time was only 30 minutes so we took a break and bought ice cream. Nathan bought all of us ice cream since they were on the delux plan and had about 200 snack credits left! We took in some sights and listened to Mor Thiam. Another potty break and it was time for our FP on the two week Safaris.

All of my pictures on the Safari stink. I was always 2 seconds too late. I really felt like we were going too fast. Usually the Safaris is our first ride and this is the first time I have ridden at any time of day except early in the morning. I missed the morning ride. I just felt like the morning rides were a tad slower and not so rushed. This CM I don't think ever slowed down. Here is the one non-blurry picture.

After the fast Safaris we met up with Nathan's wife, Cheryl. She was feeling better so she joined us in the parks. We were getting hot so we went down to Camp Minnie Mickey to catch the next show of FOTLK. I love this show. My kids like the show. My friends just wanted to get out of the sun.

After the show we ran into my DSIl and DN. They had watched the same show too! We headed off to the TOL to try to watch a bug's Life. Somehow we missed the entrance though and wound up walking all the way around the tree! After the gross bug show, we said farewell to our friends and tried to find a spot for the parade. I was trying to line up as close to the exit as possible because we were to meet my SIL and niece directly after the parade at the car to head for the airport. However, I was so disoriented after leaving It's tough to be a bug that we walked almost to Asia.

I finally figured out where we were and got us a good spot just in time for the parade to start. This was my first time seeing Mickey's Jammin Jungle parade. It will probably be my last. It just wasn't very exciting to me.

After the parade I put Tau back in the stroller because I knew we would need to walk briskly to the van. Tau had different plans. He got out of his stroller, announced that he was sleepy and laid down on the ground. Please keep in mind that this was immediately after the parade and everyone was on the move trying to get around us. I tend to get a little panicky after parades and large shows because I am afraid of being separated from my kids. This was the first time I was actually alone with all the kids, it was after a parade, and Tau was refusing to come with me. I had no choice but to force him in the stroller and strap him in so that we could safely get to the van. He screamed until about half way to the exit and finally calmed down. Then he saw the trams and he started screaming again because he wanted to ride it.

By this time I was a nervous wreck and just wanted to get to the van with all 5 kids. I didn't want to chance getting him out so I pushed the stroller with 4 big kids in tow to the van.

When we got there my DSIL and DN were waiting on us. Tau had calmed down by then and he got out of the stroller on his own. I handed my SIL the key to start the van to get the air going, asked my DN to get the kids in the van, and I loaded the stroller into the van. I got into my seat, buckled up and we headed to the airport.

We got almost to the parking lot exit and I said to my niece "thanks for buckling Tau up for me" To which she replied "Oh I didn't buckle him up"
Then my SIL told her to make sure he was in his seat. She turned around and said

"He's not in his seat!"

Next... We Run into some Friends on another Expedition to Everest

WHERE IS MY GRANDSON , BABY TAU:littleangel::scared1:??????? DID YOU LOSE HIM :confused3??????? YOU BETTER GO FIND HIM, AND I MEAN RIGHT NOW !!!!!!!:faint::badpc:

2 great updates.

I was starting to wonder if it was God calling your name :rotfl:

We have all been there with the tired child who wants to do their own thing.

My kids are 5 1/2 and 3, both girls. We are heading down in 16 days , staying for 6 nights at POP. The last two years I brought another adult with me (DBF - now ex - in 2007, Dsis in 2008 - never again.) This year I am braving it alone. I have great hopes, since they are older now and usually really good listeners. Plus, we have a double stroller with buckles in both seats - just in case ;)

Wainting patiently for the next installment. You are my favorite type of writer - fast with the chapters

Well, I have tried to arrange and re-arrange my budget to work in a trip in October, but let's face it, folks. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN:sad2::sad:....... So, I figure the next best thing will be a fantasy, because there is no worry about the money, ressies for lodging and/or food. All the characters will be at my beck and call:yay:. I am going to get my DD :laundy: to show me how to set it up, then when I get started, just HANG ON SALLY TIL YORE SHOES FALL OFF. See you guys later on the flip side:surfweb:. By the way, speaking of my DD, DID YOU EVER FIND MY PRECIOUS BABY TAU:littleangel:??????? Or is he in limbo somewhere in cyber space:teleport:?

Wow, I go to catch up and you leave me hanging like that???

Sounds like a fun day at AK. We don't do much there, but still have to go, always... I think we rode KRR 7 times last year.

LOL about Clara's screaming - sneaky Nathan! If it's any consolation, most of my safari pictures were terrible too - same as you, 2 seconds late  I can't wait to see FotLK this time! Where is Tau???? :scared1:

Animal Kingdom Part 4
My heart fell as I imagined my baby wandering around the parking lot in Animal Kingdom. I hit the breaks preparing to swing the van around to re-enter the parking lot. Alpha piped up from the back "What's wrong? Why are we stopping?"

"I don't know where Tau is!" I answered.

"Oh, he is back here with me. He wanted to sit back here so I buckled him up beside me."

My heart fell again. But this time it was with relief. I was so relieved in fact that I started crying and cried half way to the airport. I began to question every thing I had done that day and wondered if I could actually handle being alone until DH arrived. I was really hard on myself for not doing a head count as I usually do before leaving.

After talking to my SIL I started feeling better. And soon we arrived at the airport and we dropped my SIL and DN off at their terminal. After telling them goodbye we pulled off again and headed back towards DW. I asked the kids what they wanted to do and the big 3 wanted to go back to AK to ride Everest some more. Since I was feeling more sure of myself and also had a new spirit of determination, I agreed.

I don't really know why I agreed to it. I guess I felt I had to prove myself after making that mistake. It was an hour and half before closing, we had a 30 minute drive back to the park, and we were hungry and thirsty. They agreed to stop at a gas station to get a snack and drink before heading back instead of dinner. I still spent $18! For that price we could have went to McDonalds again. Oh well.

Since the big three wanted to ride EE, Delta didn't want to ride and Tau couldn't ride. So I made the big 3 agree to walk the entire way to Everest and back without complaining or asking to ride in the stroller, and they had to understand that I had no control over the line and that if we got there and the line was too long or for whatever reason they couldn't ride, they could not complain to me about that either.

They all agreed to my terms and we soon arrived at AK parking. We drove all the way to the front. In fact I might have been in the AAA diamond parking. But since it was about 45 minutes before closing there were no parking attendants nor were there many cars in the parking lot.

After parking we walked to the entrance and went straight through as there was no one there either. We headed straight to Everest via Dinoland. We arrived to the entrance of Everest and saw our friends, Tressie and Cane. They came with their two children and two young cousins. They were waiting outside the entrance with their two small kids (Tyriece (4) and Jada (2) while the two cousins aged 10 and 11 just got in line fore EE. Alpha, Chi, and Omicron got in line behind the cousins while I waited near the exit with Delta, Tau and our friends.

I was so happy to see them. I knew they were going to be in AK that day but we hadn't seen them all day so I assumed they had already left. We swapped stories of our trips so far and what we were planning on doing the rest of the trip. Delta really wanted to ride KRR again so we said that after they got off EE we would hurry over there and try to ride before closing.

Their cousins got off first. They decided to go on because we would be cutting it close. When Alpha, Chi, and Omicron got off the park was officially closed so no KRR for us. We walked back to the van and I am very happy to report that the big kids kept their end of the deal - No complaining whatsoever.

After doing a headcount, we arrived back at our room without incident. I fed, bathed, and watered the kids then we all chilled out in front of the tv. I called DH and told him of not checking Tau's car seat today. He said that I had taken on a lot and that I should do something nice for myself.

Then the smoke alarm went off.

Animal Kingdom Part 5

We made it back to our room and the fire alarm started blazing. I quickly gathered all the children together and headed out the front door. I noticed that no one else was was evacuating and I didn't smell smoke. I saw an older man and his wife walking up the stairs and so I asked him "Excuse me, can you tell me if our unit is the only one who currently has an alarm going off or are all the alarms going off"

"How am I supposed to know that, we just got here" was his answer.

I really didn't think there was anything to worry about but I didn't want to take any chances either so I left the front door open and huddled all the kids towards the parking lot. We got down the stairs and I heard the alarm stop. So we walked back upstairs and I ordered the kids to wait by the door while I went in to check it out.

Everything seemed normal so I called the front desk to report it. She asked if I wanted her to send someone up. I said no, but that I just wanted to let them know in case it happened again.

i brought the now 5 worried kids back in and calmed them down. Alpha is a worrier and has always had a phobia about fires. So calming him down took a lot of work. I have learned that I cannot show any fear in times like this even when I am worried myself.

After I got them all tucked in bed I called DH again to tell him what had happened. He urged me again to do something nice for myself.

So I called and made me an appointment.

OMG Mickey head poo, happy bats, missing kids and smoke alarms. Wow Deb you sure had a good trip :rotfl:
