DH Finally Arrives!

I was so excited this morning because I knew that DH would be flying in that night. I spent the morning doing laundry and getting the place spiffied up because I wanted him to be as impressed as I was when we first arrived. Unfortunateley there was no mid-week cleaning service at our condo.

Then the kids all got ready and we headed out to target to restock our pantry. I also wanted to get some home spa products because my feet were starting to look horrible with all the pool time and walking.

When we got to target Delta wanted to spend the rest of his money. He found a t-shirt that he liked and purchased. I thought it fit him perfectly and was rather proud of his choice.

Now all of the kids are officially out of money.

With the food and spa products, I also purchased some wrapping paper for Tau's birthday party, and a birthday card.

After paying for our items, we went out to the parking lot and saw this:

Anyone who has a transformer fan in the family will recognize the symbol on the car.

After picking up some pizza we headed back to the room to eat and take a swim in the pool. I was counting down the minutes until their flight arrived and was receiving texts from DH all the day long. Alpha and Delta were especially excited he was coming and were also watching the clock with me. DH and his brother were not scheduled to land until 9:30 and after getting their bags and finding a taxi I didn't expect them in the room until 10:30.

I finally couldn't take it anymore and told the kids that if they would get ready for bed we would ride out to the airport to pick them up in their pajamas. They also promised to go straight to bed when we returned with no arguing or complaining. They all agreed and we returned to the room for dinner and showers.

We left for the airport at 9:00 and only circled the terminal once before they were ready to be picked up. I was so happy he was there! After many hugs we were headed back to the resort. It was great as everyone was so excited and trying to talk at the same time. I don't remember much of what was said but I do remember that Uncle T was intoxicated. He has a fear of flying and therefore had a prescription anti-anxiety pill he took just before taking off. Then he decided to have a drink because he was still feeling nervous. By the time he landed he was gone.

When we got back to the room we told him he couldn't stay there like that and he had to go out by the pool until he sobered up. As soon as he found out the pool had a bar he agreed. I told him we were leaving at 7:45 and if he wanted a ride he needed to be there by then.

I am happy to say the kids kept their end of the deal and all went to bed without grumbling or complaining.

Connor would have flipped out if he had seen that car!!!

What I don't understand is that Omicron is our biggest transformer fan and he refused to get his picture taken with it. I pointed it out to them and said "stand beside it and let me take a picture" He said "It's not real, I am going to the van" and just kept on walking.

Yay for DH's arrival! I admit to a giggle at the intoxicated uncle, though. :lmao:

I can laugh about it now, too. Though at the time I did NOT think it was funny. And while I try to be sympathetic towards his aerophobia, I thought that he pushed it too far.

Yay Daddy has arrived, how cute the kids were so excited and fun to go pick him up. Ummm not so good that your BIL was drunk though :sad2:

Yes, at first I said I wasn't going to pack up the kids to pick them up. But I am glad I changed my mind. Besides, I knew the kids would not sleep until they were there.

This is my most favorite TR ever!!!! Thank you so much for the entertainment!!! It is also well written. What condo did you stay at? It sounds very nice. I'm so glad DH is with you now. Can't wait to hear more. Thanks again.

That has got to be the nicest thing anyone has said to me on the disboards! Thank you so much for the huge compliment. :worship: You are my new BFF

We stayed at Silver Lakes Resort on Black Lake Road - directly across the wood from the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think staying onsite has so many advantages and would recommend it to everyone if you can. But for a large family like ours, it just isn't very affordable.

Hi, everyone! Just a few quick lines to say, WOOHOOO !:cool1: What a TR! I look forward to reading this one every couple of days popcorn: to see what is going on. I haven't watched a soap opera in years, because they all pretty much got to be so predictable. But, this stuff is good, even if she is my DD:laundy:. She was very, very brave to take on the 5 young'uns by herself for a few days. I am thinking about nominating her for Mom of the Year.:worship: The tidbit about their Unca T arriving in that condition was SO funny:rotfl2:. You would have to know this young man to appreciate the real humor in it. I had forgotten that he was flying down with her DH. By the way, we (she and I) have a REALLY BIG surprise:banana: for everyone down the road....... stay tuned to same Mickey time and the same Mickey channel. See ya soon!pixiedust::wave::disrocks:.

::yes:: Leo would go bananas!

I'm all caught up... just in time to be computerless for another week! :rotfl: Great storytelling, though - and FANTASTIC parenting! It's hard enough keeping track of my one; you did a wonderful job!

all caught up.

great you got back to AK, sacary about the alarm going off.

:woohoo: you have reinforcements.

How old is your grandson? My best advice would be to steer away from things you know he can't ride but would want to. If you are splitting up, Always find a play spot for him before the grown-ups go on the bigger rides. Pressed penney machines have also been used to keep younger ones occupied (and they are relatively cheap too). And if all else fails....Mickey bars. :mickeybar

He will be 4 next week but is of short stature naturally (Mom is 4'11", Dad 5'71/2"). We have done all of the above, but when he saw EE from afar and heard everyone screaming he wanted to go on it so bad he cried. I hope he will be tall enough to ride on our next trip, despite the fact that he wont be in September.

What a hilarious day, Mickey head poo:lmao:, happy bats:rolleyes:, almost missing child:scared1:, jumping jacks:yay: and smoke alarms!! That's a heck of a lot for one day!!!

I'm so glad the kids co-operated and you got to pick up DH at the airport, but oh my goodness, I seriously doubt if DU will be able to get out of bed and ready by 7:45!!

We will see abut DU :rolleyes1

Oh, I hope he can ride. It is so disappointing to kids when they want to ride something but cannot  They do sometimes give you a 'front of the line pass' for kids who do not quite make the height requirements. Then the next time they come to DW they give them the card and they get to go to the front of the line. We have had several but always loose them before we go :headache:

Disney's Hollywood Studios

I was a little concerned about Uncle T not being able to wake up with us. But DH and I discussed it and said that we were sticking to our schedule regardless. This was after all, our vacation and a hung over relative wasn't going to ruin it. So you can imagine my surprise when DH was up and ready to go with us by 7:00am.

We parked, made our way through the turnstiles, and was stopped behind all these people.

As soon as the ropes dropped we headed straight to TSM

100_1684.jpg

and the line was already out the door. We ran into Nathan, Cheryl and their kids and snuck them in line with us :rolleyes1

After losing to DH... We headed to the RNRC to see how Steven Tyler was doing. I told Omicron that I didn't think he was going to make the height requirement but he wanted to try anyway. I walked him up to the line and nope, he didn't make it. :sad2: So Alpha, Chi, Uncle T, DH, rode with Nathan and their youngest DD Claire while her two older boys were too scared to ride.

After getting us FP for ToT, I checked the Times Guide and asked Cheryl if she wanted to see the playhouse Disney with me. I won her over when I said it is air conditioned.

100_1688.jpg

We still kid her two older boys that their little sister rode RNRC while they saw PDLOS.

We met up with the other group under the Mickey hat and rode the great movie ride. We went on the gangsta side and had Mugsi the female gangsta. I felt bad because I promised Delta that it wasn't scary but he got a little frightened during the shootout of the gangstas.

Then things get a little fuzzy because I didn't take any more notes. I know we probably pottied a few times. Probably ate something interesting. And probably saw something exciting. It is just that I can't remember what those things are.

Eventually we met back up at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. We were all hungry and showed up about 30 minutes early. We were seated 15 minutes after our ADR for a 45 minute wait. Cheryl and Nathan said they had nearly 100 meal credits left and that they wanted to treat us for lunch.

Our 'mom' was Debbie. After taking our order she gave me a piece of paper and said for us to do our homework. It was listing all of the Disney animated movies with only one word in the title. We got most of them but decided to have some fun and on the other side of the paper we wrote all the non-Disney movies with one word in the title.

When she saw the list with "SHREK" as the first item she scolded us and said we didn't know our Disney movies. I then turned the page over and showed her the Disney answers. She said we missed two and we had until our food was served to find them.

DH used his blackberry to find the other two and so we completed our list. When she checked on us and saw our finished list she asked how we came up with it so fast. One of the kids ratted DH out and she started yelling at us

"WHO GOOGLED? HAND ME THE GOOGLER. THERE IS NO GOOGLING AT THE DINNER TABLE YOUNG MAN"

great update and pics.

no googling at the table. :rotfl2:

Glad you got to ride TSM it's so cool!!!!

And how funny about no Googling :rotfl:
