Okay. When I went to bed a mere few hours ago, I told Lisa to call my mobile and leave me a message if/when she got the rental car returned and picked up a new one. I told her my mobile would be off. So, she just called me at 3:30 a.m., and I had left my mobile on. :D :p

After apologizing profusely, we talked for almost an hour. She was awake and hiding in the bathroom calling me from her mobile. I think there might be a murder in Orlando today. She is the sole driver on the rental car because Bob has a few young-guy related ticket thingys he needs to drop off his record. Catch my drift? He's mature now but he has a few tickets in his past. So, he's usually the one that does the driving, and she's the one that does the navigating. When they go and pick up the car yesterday, it's starting to rain. She's never rented a car or driven in Orlando. She's nervous and glad that she's not alone. When they get in the car, he sits down and buckles in and gets ready for the ride. Okay. She's ready for his navigating to begin. She said that he would tell her, "You need to turn on Street X." She'd say, "Okay." She'd look over there, and he would be playing with something in the interior of the car." She'd say, "Are you helping me look?" He'd say, "Oh. No. Okay. I see Street Y. That's not it." He'd go back to playing with things the car.

I guess they finally make it on the toll road, and she's driving along in the rain at 60ish miles an hour. He starts flipping down her visor and opening the mirror that's in the visor. She says, "Honey, I can't see as well when you do that. I need you to help me look for our exit." He says, "Oh. Okay." They drive down the road a little bit more, and he reaches up and pops open the sunglass holder and gets his sunglasses out. She told me, "I can't believe he'd already found time to stick those in there." She then used a few words that are not appropriate for our audience (

) , but I'm sure you can supply those in your head. For the record, she's not as outspoken as I am. She's much more quiet and shy. She said this morning after he's had his coffee she is going to talk to him about exactly how a navigator helps the driver. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall for that discussion? :p ;) :D ****

****The preceding post was not male bashing. It was making fun of my incredibly sweet, funny, goofy, soon-to-be-abandoned-on-the-side-of-an-Orlando-street brother-in-law, Bob. I also realize that there are two sides to every story. I just get to hear hers. :bounce: :D :bounce: I love my politically correct disclaimers. :D

ROTFLMAO...isn't that a typical day in the car with a male Dayna....lol. I am leaving today...if I see a poor defensless guy wandering the streets of Orlando on my way out, I will pm you his location....lol

Glo, I would appreciate it. He's a keeper, and I know she'll be sad if she "loses" him. :D

ROTFL!!!!! Ah, wedded bliss-ya' gotta love it! :D At least she wants to "talk". I think that's cute. :)
I may not be the best navigator, but Bill is THE worst "back-seat driver" in all of creation. That is exactly why I NEVER drive if he's a passenger anymore! We'd be calling our lawyers the minute we found phones! There was the one time he made me so mad, I threw my purse out the window so I could stop the car and get out and walk!!!!!!!!!! Then there was the time he kept beeping my horn at other drivers, and then proceeded to tell me I was up to far in the lane (at a red light), so I slammed it into reverse!
Gee, do ya' think this is maybe a really bad idea?!??!

ROFLMBO Dayna......and Barb! I have very little (okay, none! :D ) sympathy for Bob. I am the boss whenever I'm in the car (whether I'm the driver or passenger! Yes, can you say "control FREAK"? ;) ), and that would have driven me  LOL :D

And if Bill honked my horn while I was driving......I'd be throwing his wallet out the window just so he could get out and walk! LOL :D

The only time my dh and I fight is in the car. Of course, he's the best driver in the world:rolleyes: When he drives I try to keep my mouth shut and hang on for dear life. When I drive he's always telling me "and you complain about the way I drive".

ROTFLOL!!! I'm so glad I'm not alone here! You see, the reason I'm not afraid of roller coasters is that I've ridden in a car that Barry was driving, and any roller coaster I've been on is tame after that!
So far he hasn't honked the horn while I'm driving - he just yells at me to do it! And so far neither of us has thrown anything out the window YET, although I have threatened to jump a few times!
He is the stereotypical NY city driver, that's for sure. But after reading all of your stories, I guess I really don't have it all that bad! :)
