UPDATED ***!!! GOT EMAIL FROM DISNEY HERE IS THEIR QUOTE:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

We thank you for your interest in Walt Disney World ticket media. We
understand your concerns
regarding "third-party" ticket brokers.

As these businesses are independently owned and operated, please
understand that we cannot take
responsibility for the tickets they offer, nor can we speculate about
their validity. We always ask
that guests use their best judgment when purchasing tickets from any
unofficial location, with the
understanding that you would be doing so at your own risk.

Multi-day tickets may be purchased through official Walt Disney World
channels such as
www.disneyworld.com, or by calling (407)W-DISNEY. We do offer advance
purchase savings, along with a
new "Will Call" option.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

PHOOEY!! I don't believe that (the answer not you). We've never gotten tickets from Disney because my hubby is military and when we can save, we choose to save!

Ticketmania has sold to tons and tons of Disers. I'm certain you'll get lots of replies from those who've used them with NO problems at all.

Something to store for future reference.....You can call Disney 4x in a row and talk to 4 different CM's and NEVER get the same answer. Just how it is.

I have used ticketmania not only for Disney tickets, but for other Orlando attractions as well and have never have a problem. I believe that you cannot tell the difference when you look at the ticket - there is nothing on the ticket (as I recall) that would identify it as having been purchased at Ticketmania.

Just got back from WDW a couple of weeks ago and used tickets bought from AAA. I think the operator was incorrect.

I order from them EVERY time we go and will continue to do so. They are wonderful. Fast, efficient and they are a member of the BBB. I always make copies of the back serial numbers in case there is a problem or one is lost but I've never had a problem. I love them.

Just a thought....

Perhaps the operators response of "I cannot guarantee that" was just a CYA response that simply covers ANY ticket purchase questions for outside vendors? Or simply put -- WDW cannot be held responsible for any tickets purchased off property - so take your chances.

Of course, you just need to do some very good research before you purchase your tickets.

i've used ticketmania for disney, kennedy space center, disney quest and universal studios/IOA and have never had any problems with them at all, being accepted at the gate or ordering from the company. I've also used floridaorlandotickets.com and also had no problem with them.

I too have used Ticketmania, as well as PIT and Floridaorlando and have never had any issues with any of them. These are reputable dealers and for whatever reason the CM was wrong with her answer.

We have purchased tickets from our local AAA office and most recently from ticketmania. Both were fine. We could not tell the difference between those tickets and others we had purchased at WDW on past trips.

Just a hunch, but the CM is probably trained to give that answer as Disney can't know about every independent ticket vendor out there. Just as some are terrific, there must be some less reputable outfits and Disney is trying to prevent people from getting ripped off. How steamed would you be at WDW if the CM had said "sure, no problem" and then you ended up with something bogus?

I think the statement made by the operator was alittle over the top-- but probably doing so "to cover themselves". I mean AAA even advertises themselves as liscensed Disney Travel Co.

I bought from Alamo last year w/o issue. Ticketmania has gotten plenty of wonderful feedback from disers and mousesavers alike.

Just ordered tickets from ticketmania for my parents and brother. It was a fab deal. (special for mousesavers newsletter subscribers) I've only heard fab things about them myself. They will be delivering our tickets to our hotel.

That's exactly the case. The only tix that Disney will guarantee as being genuine Disney tickets are the ones that they sell directly. Even though places like Ticketmania get their tickets from Disney, once they leave Disney's hands, Disney has no idea what happens to them. For example, say a batch of tickets goes to a third-party seller and they get demagnetized somehow and end up not working when you get to the parks. Since Disney didn't sell them to you, you couldn't go to Disney Guest Relations and expect them to re-issue. You'd have to go back to point of purchase. Disney didn't guarantee them, the seller did.

Not true. If you have a Disney admission media that has the serial number information clearly visible on it or a photocopy of that information and the ticket becomes demagnetized, Guest Relations will absolutely replace it for you regardless of where it was purchased. They can verify that the ticket is legitimate, will know exactly how many admissions remain unused on it and they will issue you a replacement ticket for those unused admissions.

A month ago we ordered hopper tickets from AAA, no problem got the tickets right then.
Two weeks ago my husband went to get more and AAA told him that Disney no longer will let them keep tickets on hand. AAA now has to order them from Disney, then AAA calls us when they are in. So maybe something just very recently changed?
Still wasn't a problem we just had to wait.

I hope this goes for ebay as well. From my expereince, most ebay users are trustworthy when it comes to used goods, like hopper tickets with a few days left on them.

I think it is rather safe to say that the DIS would have been the first place to hear about any problems at all with Disney ticket stock purchased from Ticketmania, Paramount, etc., etc. By the simple fact that we haven't heard anything -- one can reasonably assume that the tickets they advertise and sell as genuine Disney tickets are, indeed, genuine Disney tickets.
Fairytinkerbell -- you can obsess over this all you wish (as it would seem you are already doing). However, I think the great majority of us (myself included) are going to buy our tickets from legitimate tickets sales outlets (and that's not Ebay -- selling tickets with days left over is illegal) and save money and get the tickets we want with the pluses we want. I think the general advice out here would be for you to take a deep breath, stop worrying and get the 4-Day PHPs you want.

Our houseguests used the Alamo park hopper plus tickets with no problems in May.

I'm not sure about Ticketmania specifically, but I know a few cast members and I remember the CM who works at guest services telling a story about how a family tried to use tickets they had bought elsewhere and they were no good. I'm not sure the CM even knew where the tickets were from. The CM felt so bad because nothing could be done about it, the family was at the gate to a park, and had obviously spent a great deal of money for these bogus tickets.

I'm sure Ticketmania is fine, but use caution when buying Disney tickets from anyone but Disney. There is really no way to know if you are getting a valid ticket.

I guess the old saying goes..."If it seems too good to be true, it probably is"

I just bought my 5 tickets from AAA too. I just went in asked for Hopper tickets and they had them. It was about 200.00 cheaper.

I think april76 has the right explanation for this. Regardless of whether Disney can or will assist a guest with a problem with a ticket purchased from a 3rd party, the bottom line is there's no responsibility or requirement for Disney to do this. That's the only point the operator in the OP's post was probably trying to convey. Having said that, if you buy your tickets from reputable vendors like AAA etc, then you won't have any problems anyway. Ebay sellers are a whole other matter. If you show up with tickets purchased on Ebay with no days left on them, I don't think you can expect Disney to assist you.
