<---sorry, just wanted to use that. His facial expression is priceless! :teeth:

 I love him!

I'm going to read Alex's tr finally!!!

I think your DS3 could very well be the next American Idol one day! ;) :yay:
He is pretty cute when he sings, and he's surprisingly more often than not on the right notes! Now if he could just learn the right words to the songs instead of making up his own:

"Yo Yo Yo Yo, da pirates like-a me!" :rotfl:

:lmao: I like his version of pirates better than the original! :teeth: One of my co-workers is always singing and he kept singing that line over and over and drove us all nuts!

I noticed that my little sister is becoming a bit rebellious or disobedient is more like it. She's 11 going on 12, but she acts like she's 5. I don't quite understand it and I don't hang out with her as much.

I'm not sure if it's because of my mean aunt's influence. When my parents say no, she runs to my aunt and uses her to buy her things. My aunt knows that she is being used but she still gives in and acts like she doesn't mind.

My little sister is actually getting worse. She has swim practice at least 2-3 times a week, often times has a swim meet on the weekends. My parents and I are all at work, my sibs live elsewhere and my parents have a friend pick up my little sister to take her to swim practice (their friend's daughter is also on the swim team). Then my parents or aunt will drop the friend's daughter at home afterwards. Well I noticed that my little sister keeps trying to invent new ways to skip practice. The problem is that it happends when the friend's mother is already at my parents house to pick her up.

She pretends to be asleep, claims to have "tons" of homework, etc. I suggested to my parents that they should start taking away things that she uses often as punishment for when she misbehaves: Nintendo DS, computer priviledges, phone, cell phone, TV, iPod, no friends at the house for 1 week, etc. I told them it hurts more than being spanked on the rump or grounded.

When my older sister and I were little we were afraid of our parents when we were bad. It straightened us out real quick, but with my little sister it's entirely different. She's a smart kid but she's really immature and continues to act like a spoiled child. She will even go so far as to cry when she doesn't get her way. :headache: I'm not sure what to do, but would love some advice from you guys. Sometimes I have to chauffeur her around when my parents are out of town on business.

Last week, I left work early just to take her to swimming. Her friend's mom had arrived to pick her up and next thing you know, I get a call at work that my little sister is pretending to be asleep, refuses to get up and go to her swim practice. I left work early, as my parents were out of the country. I told my little sister: "I had to leave work early, I don't get paid for this, you need to get up and get ready right now!" I even told her that she should feel ashamed of herself for having her friend's mother wait like that and waste her time. I told her to apologize to her when she got to swimming.

Last month my parents invited me out to dinner. Well we didn't eat a restaraunt that my little sister wanted to dine at and she crossed her arms and sulked for the longest time. We tease her because when she's mad she makes this "Ughhhh" sound that sounds like a cow. So we tease her and ask her if she's a cow. Obviously this makes her even more angry. :sad2: She threw this fit when we were overseas last Christmas. It was over something stupid like hair ribbons and she dislikes the color my older sister had chosen for her.

Last week I told her: "You're not a little baby anymore, you shouldn't be acting like one. Do your friends act like this? If they saw you acting like this they would laugh!"

Honestly, her behavior sounds pretty typical of a budding teenager, as well as the youngest child in the family. She's just coming into the years when everyone else in her family is "sooo stupid" and she already knows it all. GEESH, I remember talking to my parents with that attitude, which just makes me cringe today. :headache:

Making the friend's mom wait for her, or stop by and she doesn't show up, is disrespectful to someone outside the house, though, and I wouldn't think your parents would let her get away with that.

Our feeling is that when DS7 commits to a sport, he needs to finish it out. It doesn't mean he needs to sign up for it again the next time around, but he does need to complete and do his best in the session he signed up for. So when he whines about not wanting to go to practice because he wants to play videogames or "I haven't done my homework yet", then he gets a stern lecture and straightens up pronto!

Honestly, I grew up afraid of my dad, and I don't recommend it. Yeah, I listened to him better than I did my mom, but my mom was and still is the one I'm closest to. A child who is afraid of their parent will sometimes do really stupid, unsafe things to keep their parents from finding out important things in their life. I'd much rather deal with attitude and letting DS make mistakes than always be on his case and have him be in serious trouble and he feels he can't tell me about it.

I don't know that I have any advice for you about your DSis, but basically she needs to be respectful. You don't have to help her out (getting her to/from her activities or school), she has two perfectly good legs and is certainly old enough to take a bus or arrange her own transportation on everyone else's schedules and needs.

You don't have to take any crap from her, and make sure she knows it. However she treats her parents (and they let her get away with it) is their business, but how she treats you is YOUR business. People will treat you the way you LET them. Don't let her get away with treating you like crap! :thumbsup2

Criminy Christmas, pick out your own dang hair ribbons! :rotfl:

DS3 insisted yesterday on getting himself dressed. He came back in a black Halloween themed t-shirt and navy sweatpants. But you know what? He totally dressed himself! :thumbsup2

His gymnastics class was yesterday, so I took him dressed like that. I'm sure we got a few curious looks, but whatever, people probably are more understanding of kids this age and their interesting clothing choices. :rotfl:

HERE YOU GO....

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.

We extort, we pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Maraud and embezzle and even hijack.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.

We kindle and char, inflame and ignite.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We burn up the city, we're really a fright.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.

We're rascals, scoundrels, villans and knaves.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs!
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.

We're beggars and blighters and ne'er-do-well cads.
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!
Aye! But we're loved by our mommies and dads!
Drink up me 'earties, Yo Ho!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate's life for me.

Time for me to scoot and get the little monkey from school.

Later, kids! :)

Good News!!! Dh is going to hire a new manager that can close 2 nights a week, and work anything Saturday/Sunday :cool1: . Not only does that give me a bit of a break - but it makes Disney trips doable again!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
