Awww, that's so sweet! :lovestruc

A guy he works with has been talking to him about some issues in his life. Not really problems, but things that could turn into problems if he and his wife didn't get them resolved, you know?

And DH told him, "Look. You guys need to make these decisions together and work toward a common goal. You've got to stop looking at it like something she wants vs. something you want, you need to think as a team to get what you both want."

He said if the wife wasn't happy, then the husband really needs to do what he can to make sure she is happy. He put it more nicely, but basically he was saying "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" :rotfl:

I know it. Dh didnt take long to learn that idea either.

There are different versions out, but the one I like is by the creator of Spirited Away (Hayao Miyazaki).

Critically acclaimed as one of the most delightful and charming family films ever, MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO is a stunning animated treat full of magical adventure from Hayao Miyazaki. Follow the adventures of Satsuki and her four-year-old sister Mei when they move into a new home in the countryside. To their delight, they discover that their new neighbor is a mysterious forest spirit called Totoro, who can be seen only through the eyes of a child. Totoro introduces them to extraordinary characters -- including a cat that doubles as a bus! -- and takes them on an incredible journey. Full of wonder and heart, this spectacular 2-disc set features the voice talents of Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning. MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO is a magical experience for the whole family! © 1988 Nibariki • G

That does sound really cute! Is it on DVD now? But that isn't the '88 version, right? Because Dakota Fanning isn't that old, and I believe her sister is even younger, right?

Good Morning!

It's been forever since I've been on so if there's anything important that I missed please let me know because I'm not going to read back all those pages I missed.

DBF's shoulder surgery went well. He is in alot of pain now though and he can't move his arm.

Glad to hear your bf's surgery went well. I hope he has a speedy recovery! :goodvibes

Did I miss something here? Was this a scheduled surgery?:confused3

Yep. He was in a car accident two years ago. This is the 2nd surgery. Hopefully the last.

Hi everyone! Yes I think I missed something too. Sarah, is he alright?

He's fine now, but in alot of pain.

Sarah!! Come back! Is he okay?

His arm is strapped to his side so he won't move it. We took the badages off yesterday and he has staples in his arm!:scared1:

Hello Hyenas,

Just stopping by to say hi real quick. It's not as hectic as yesterday but it's still a bit crazy. I managed to clear a lot of paperwork off my desk (no I did not use a huge fan to blow it away! :rotfl: )

Moto-I hope your bf has a safe recovery and that everything went well! :grouphug:

Thanks.

Okay, let me tell you guys what happened at the doctor's on Thursday. After DBF's surgery the nurse came and got me from the waiting room as DBF was waking up. I helped him get dressed and they put him in a wheelchair. The nurse was telling us how the surgery went and about a piece of bone they found floating around in his shoulder and I started getting really light headed and dizzy and then I fainted! Like litterally fell on the floor and everything. I was so embarrased! The nurse made me get on the bed and she took my blood pressure and the Dr. came and listened to me heart.

I have this thing about blood and stuff like that. A few years ago a friend's daughter slammed her finger in the door and I didn't even see the blood but just heraring my friend talk about it and hearing her daughter crying and I started to feel like I was going to pass out.

This has happened a few time but I have never actually passed out before.

 Oh no!!! You poor thing! Ill bet you were embarrassed! I know I would have been to!

No, it's from the 80's :) It's already out on DVD. The release date was back in 2006. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240301&pf_rd_i=507846

I bought it at Fry's this past weekend and my bf and I loved it. I also got Kiki's Delievery Service which is cute too. :) Totoro is really cute :goodvibes

Oh gosh, you poor thing! No injury from falling to the floor, I hope! A family friend fainted during the birth of his first child. :rotfl:

And somebody else I know has serious anxiety just being in a hospital. She doesn't know where it comes from. But her dad has a heart condition and when he's in the hospital she forces herself to go, but she almost has to be held up while she's there, it's really awful for her.

The staples are pretty freaky looking, aren't they? They remind me of Frankenstein for some reason. I've had them a couple of times, and the first time I was pretty horrified! There are internal stitches in the layers of skin underneath, but I think they've found there's less scarring if they use staples or steri-strips on the external wound.

That reminds me... Alex, what was your recovery time from your c-section? I am TERRIFIED that I might have to have one. Completely terrified...

The official recovery time from a v-birth is 6 weeks, and for a c-section it's 8 weeks, but can be longer depending on complications, such as trying for a v-birth and then doing a c-section, which I've heard is much harder than either one alone. (DUH, right?) ;)

But they want you up and about right away. With DS7 the surgery was early in the morning, and they had me up and about that afternoon. With DS3 the surgery wasn't until early afternoon (waaaay too long to make a pregnant lady go without food, I tell ya!), and I was up walking that evening. It's important for getting the gastro system back into operation, as well as the more active you are, the better and faster you heal.

I didn't want to take the drugs with DS7; I'm not real big on drugs anyway, but especially since I was nursing, I didn't want to do anything that was going to be a problem. So I was in a lot of pain at home, didn't move much at all that first week, only when I absolutely had to!

But when my doc heard this when I was PG with Ds3, she told me to take the drugs, that any chance that the drug might get into the breastmilk was not as much a risk as other complications from my not moving. So the second time around was much easier on me, and also on poor DH. :)

Well that doesnt sound to bad I guess. I have this fear of being layed out and in horrible pain with 3 kids to take care if.

No reason to be terrified, I promise.

It's statistically a safer method of birthing, less chance of complications than with a v-birth, isn't that weird? But most people still consider the natural method to be the best, and certainly the recovery time is much shorter.

I would have done the v-birth if I could, though the idea of that terrified me. I needed to have c-sections due to a previous surgery on my uterus, so I went into the pregnancies knowing that was my only option. Still, no one wants surgery unless it's needed. In a way it was nice, because it was scheduled; I knew exactly when the baby was coming, and roughly what time, based on the surgery time.

I've heard of people having elective c-sections, which seems really odd to me. I understand being afraid of v-birth (I would be, too), but I wouldn't have chosen a surgery because of it. :confused3

Okay... dhis going to bed, so I have to start my day. Later gators!!

Nope, no injuries. DBF has to go on Friday to have the staples out. I am NOT going in the room when he does! :rotfl: I'll stay in the waiting room.

I was induced with both of mine.. So my births were very easy. 7 hours from start to finish, and out popped the baby. I would rather stay away from a c-section... not because its not "natural" or whatever, but the idea of getting cut open freaks me RIGHT out! Plus after the 2 V-births its what I know.

Yes, I worried about that, too. Does DH take time off work for the birth/coming home? DH took the week off with both boys, and he was a huge help. The first time around he'd get the baby in the middle of the night for me (bring him to me so I didnt' have to get up.) The second time, he pretty much took care of Ds7 while I looked after the baby's needs, just until I was more on my feet. Oh, and he did a LOT of runs to Starbucks. :lmao:
