Untitled DL chat thread. Everyone is welcome! Part 12

DH just added some of the new packages of insulation we got for the attic over the garage. We need about 6 more large packages! We got R-39, which is big overkill for the garage. So I'm guessing since we need 6 more packages we will probably just get R-19, about half the price. Otherwise it's going to cost us about $500 to do the entire garage. Pretty stiff price just to turn it into an exercise/rec room for the kids!

Hey guys we're slipping. Looks like we missed a couple of celebrations. Staley had her 10,000th post not too long ago and GP had 1,500! Or did you guys celebrate and I just missed it?

Oh well, anyways. WooHoo on 10,000 and 1,500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I no longer park in the garage. We got a large carpet remnant and set up DD's exercise equipment, weights. I got her a punching bag & boxing gloves for xmas and we got DS a 6' pool table/air hockey/ping pong table. Basically I now park in the driveway and we have a giant play room. The walls in the garage are insulated, the garage door is also, but the attic is not, so it's a little cold out there. We decided to add insulation to the garage attic.

The higher the number on insulation the greater the insulating factor. R-39 is really good stuff, but expensive. It's what we have in the house. We were hoping we would only need 2-3 big rolls, but it looks like we are going to need about 7 or 8 rolls. R-19 will work good enough and is about half the price. So R-19 for the rest of the attic it is! The kids can just wear sweatshirts!

ok so I was just looking at the winter castle lights on youtube...it is sooooooooooo gorgeous...Staley you are going to bawl your eyes out when you see it...from what I understand...DL was feeling bad for the little ones who couldnt stay awake for the holiday fireworks which has the snow and stuff so that is why the are now doing the castle lights with snow ...for them

Awww!!! I am sooo excited to see it! I know we are all going to just freak when we see it. Alex has seen pics of it, and he says... "mommy, its soooo pretty!"
