Unsed grocery items

I understand that Disney would not want to dedicate manpower to do this as corporate business decision . I get that. What I Proposed was a discreet collection box where guests would drop off appropriate items.
As for liability I don't see any more liability than any other food drive that is done on a local level. Any school that my kids were in always had some kind of food drive for thanksgiving ets.
The house keepers are happy to take the left overs and I don't have problem with that.
I do think that Dis reg has good point Disney does not want any reminder of the real world. Seeing a sign for food donations may make someone think twice about buying something in WDW and using the money as a donation to a charity.

When we left Aulani last fall I offered my unopened leftovers (sunscreen, drinks and some snacks) to Bell Services when they came to get our luggage. We were enthusiastically thanked.
