Unpopular trip report I’m sure.

We were there Friday as the end of a week-long CA vacation. We stayed at the DL Hotel at a pricey $565 per night.
The park was packed. All the good rides 45 mins plus. And annoyingly, we saw some people with secret fast passes. Was it some kind of limited distribution? There were signs too.
Restaurant res were very hard to come by even tho they were over staffed. I thought I had snagged a good one for dinner at Storybook Cafe & it was a BUFFET! With all the protocols this is what they decide on? I thought for sure they would at least put the food on your plate, but no, it was just grab from every direction. There was a mask guard assuring you wore your mask to the buffet line, that was it.
We were excited to score a queue spot for Webslingers although it was 400+ minutes away. By the time we were called it was 8 pm & we rushed over to have our bar code checked and into what looked like a 20 min line. Well the rest of it was behind the building and we were in line for 90 mins. We missed the fireworks which was such a disappointment, hearing them from the line just stung.
Then the ride? What? We had just ridden Buzz at MK & this was similar although in 3D. I was expecting something like Avatar at WDW with all the hype. What a huge disappointment. I’m not sure why they had to stop FP because of covid. You think that would help the situation.
So all in all we spent $1400 not including food, and it was one of our worst times at any of the parks. Just terrible.

I'm sorry but I am so tired of people saying there are secret fast passes. There are not. They are mostly likely using the DAS pass because someone in their party is disabled and trust me, you do not want that kind of fast passes. On occasion, if a ride breaks down while someone is on it or the next in line, they may be issued a fastpass to return later. Otherwise they were with a VIP Plaid tour or on a MAW trip. NO ONE IS CONNING ANYONE OUT OF SECRET FASTPASSES.

Yes, I don’t wish for those kind of fast passes. I wasn’t the only one who mentioned it & they had signs for return times. And I saw a area that was called a FP distribution area that said “none left or already distributed”. What are people supposed to think? It sounds from your post that we are not the only one’s that think this. I figured they were beta testing or just launched it & we were just out of luck.
I fully support disabled accommodations but don’t set it up to look like the regular fast pass system then. And why not just have Fast Pass? It would reduce the queues & Covid exposures.

Sorry to hear it wasn't a great time. We were there about 3 weeks ago for 4 days from Tues-Fri and the first few days weren't too bad at all on wait times/crowds, but Friday really picked up and it was definitely more crowded that day. By then we were all pretty tired anyway so rather than racing around to do all the big rides again we spent more time relaxing at various spots which helped us still have a great day.

I wondered the same thing about the fast passes when we were there and after about the third time I saw people go down a closed FP entrance I asked a cast member standing there if FP was going again. He did confirm it was the disabled return and that FP was still not back so that made sense. I too miss having FP/Maxpass like the last few times we visited before the closure and hopefully that comes back soon, but all in all it wasn't too big a deal and most lines moved pretty quick.

That's rough. I was reading micechat this morning and they wrote about the drastic change in crowds from Friday/Saturday to Sunday, you probably just got caught in a mini-surge of people before school starts up in the coming weeks.

But yes, no FPs. Only VIP tours and DAS are using those FP lanes. There are no secret FPs. RIP FPs.
