I'm very lucky at present with gift cards at target ... I work at the agency that did all their ads until this year before they decided to bring it in house so I have a 10% employee discount until they turn that off (long story...we won agency AND independent agency of the year though so take that!) and we got a red card so 15% off! They were on sale here for $4 off too I think but only the $50 ones. So we bought as many as we could for $39.10 each and are paying down as much as we can and setting the rest aside for food.

YES...I think it was $4 off that I had read...but I guess it was regional. Our Target (which sucks by the way) had signs up saying sal...and the sale price was $50... Not really a savings now is it?

That is a large group to be booking and to get that all done would be a huge rush! Do they all have an assigned seat?

Heck I just book 3 people and was like totally like flying high that I did it! (go ahead and laugh, this trip is the first time I'm ever booked my own airfare)

I think with us leaving on the 1st, we may miss trick or treating here. I haven't seen the towns dates yet,. I'm hoping they do it the weekend before.


With ME, we leave for the airport 3 hours prior right? We'll be leaving AOA probably around 9am, and probably checking out as you're checking in.

Ideally I want to be there by 6:30 to check in. that way I can have their car returned with time to spare. Plus since we have linked reservations...I should probably check in before you leave...just in case.

Those are great flight prices! I am still holding out hope that my flights drop enough for me to book a trip. Right now it is cheaper for me to take a 6 hour flight to LA than a 3 hour flight to Orlando. I am considering it because I am 98% sure I am buying a DL season pass when I got visit my sister this Labor day weekend.

Right now it is cheaper for me to take a 6 hour flight to LA than a 3 hour flight to Orlando. I am considering it because I am 98% sure I am buying a DL season pass when I got visit my sister this Labor day weekend.

I've been told by some people that the best prices will stil lbe yet to be seen. Probably sometime in Aug. I am still happy at 230 per person though.

Yes...but of course he also said he wasn't giving me another dime towards this trip either.. He needs to get over his "man period" right now...he's a bit crazy the last few days.

On Sat. my Mom called and aksed Claire and I to join her for lunch in Toledo. She often runs errands on Sat.s and shops and she doesn't like to eat alone, so she'll often call us to meet her or just pick us up to go with her. (BTW she just called me and we are leaving in an hour to go with her shopping today as well. LOL)
I asked Skip if he wanted to see Brave or not, and he didn't, so I said I would most likely take Claire to a matinee movie while we were in town.
We met with Mom and had a nice lunch. Mom had bought Claire a new dress....and she was happy about that. And we did some Dsney talk while eating. Claire just LOVES to talk Disney with other people.
Soooo....Mom asks me where Claire and I are staying the 1st night we get there. now I told her before, but she has a lot on her mind and forgot. So I blurted out AKL. I looked at Claire and she was staring right at me.....and I realized my mistake. I hadn't told Claire where we were staying. it was going to be a surprise. I quickly siad oh shoot, thats a surprise for Claire. And Claire didn't catch on right away, but you could see her mind working trying to remember what I had said. She said she didn't hear the whole thing, just Animal Kingdom something. of course the last part of the name isn't going to give her any more info than she already has. I don't think the name registers for her though. She usually points it out in a book and says I want to stay here. So it wil lstill be somewhat surprising for her. And Monday she asked if I could tell her again because she can't remember what it was...and I said "NO WAY".

After lunch we went to the theatre in the mall and saw Brave. Mom decided to jopin us...but she actually took about a 10 minute nap during it.
I was very impressed with the movie. I kind of heard mixed reviews and that many kids wouldn't like it. I think it is one of Disney's better movies. I liked the story, which is very different than your normal Princess storyline. I had tears in my eyes towards the end...and we had a few laughs too.

And I really want that wild and crazy red hair...just like hers!

Theres a small independent theater a few blocks from home with $5 matinees. I just checked their website and it's gone after tomorrow. I HATE going to the mall and fighting the crowds. So it's now or never.......

Usually we go to the small own theatre in the opposite direction. It's cheaper and even the popcorn is bigger and cheaper. LOL But since we met Mom at the mall, we figured it was a good time to do it...and it's usually not too bad in the afternoon there.

Though I am glad we got there early as it was a full house.

Sounds like all is coming together! It is going to be such a fun trip, especially for Claire.

I know all about those "man periods" DH has been having one lately. Of course he does have a lot to gripe about lately & lots of clean up around the place to do!
