Universal Adventures of Dreams AND Magic, and an expanding World!

ok, finally caught up again!

Love all of her new outfits- so cute, including the matching ones.

So sorry about your parent's barn, it looked horrible. Has anything else happened in terms of insurance/investigation?

Your plans look great so far- we are also doing a late (10:30) breakfast at Tusker house on our AK day!

bummer on your tickets shipping to the agency address! I hate when that happens. We bought ours with the DVC discount, it was a better savings than the commission I would have gotten, so that means we have to pick them up in person though and show my ID. i hate not having them in hand!

yeah on your passport arriving too!!! ;)

Did you get hit by any of the storms this week, especially yesterday? I know your area got it bad... We had it Sunday evening. The side of town we live on now wasn't too bad, but over by our old house was some serious damage...[/QUOTE]

Jumping in here since you are from Ohio, also. We lost most of our roof, several large trees, & our power for several days. Got hit on Friday & Sunday. Temps here were 104 today & hotter tomorrow. We really need the rain, corn is starting to look bad.

Thanks I do love the outfits...still waiting on one more to arrive yet.
The insurance won't cover Dads barn, so now he has to sue Jim Bobs insurance company for it.
I do like things in my hands right away. So it seemed to take forever to get them...even though it really wasn't bad...i have a hard time waiting.
Is it Nov yet? LOL

I had heard that storm last week was really bad south of us. We didn't even get rain from it...but did get some wind.

been off for a while and catching up on your updates - that airfare is great, it seems like the airfares lately have been ridiculous; we will be facing the same thing next year when we go to Vegas - I'll let my husband deal with it, he loves checking different flights and times, etc., and don't even get me started about MANOPAUSE because it does exist! my friend and I talk about it all the time!
My daughter (23) and I saw Brave last weekend and loved it! I think it was one of Pixar's best.

Flights can be a crazy thing. I am super happy with the price they all got. And it sure makes it more real now.

There is definitely some loose screw in the mens brains... :rotfl2:
Brave was fun. I ma glad we saw it. much better than I thought it would. Actually I don't even think the previews of it tell much about the real story either.

On June 16, my Uncle was part of the Toledo area Garden tour. He has really been getting into gardening and he has really worked hard to make his yard look so pretty. All the family had to help out, directing people which way to go and there was a ticket table, etc. it was a fun day and we went to dinner after as it was also Paige's birthday).
Here are a few pictures from the garden.

Hey Jen- I finally made my way over here! I totally missed the March trip. I guess I was too wrapped up in my own trip to catch on - and was gone during most of your planning time! I need to go back and read about the Universal trip still (I skipped ahead to the November planning). I'll check out your TR.

Your November trip sounds like so much fun! We love AKV and will be there again in October!
Hope to check out AoA just to see it too. Ah, the Beach Club! I think because it's so close to Epcot (and other fun things) it's one of the best! I hope you guys have fun there - Stormalong Bay, Beaches & Cream, Cape May Cafe, what more could you ask for?
Claire's outfits are super cute!

So sorry about your dad's barn etc. That stinks.
Great deals on airfare! If I could find some for under $300 I might actually fly! As of now, we'll be driving. Again.

Your uncle's garden is just beautiful! Love the steps!

Are the Dream and Fantasy both in port at the same time when you are going or is it one day apart? It would be fun to see one leaving, but still knowing you're getting on the next one! It's not as fun to watch them go when you're stuck on dry land. Trust me, I know of what I speak!

Okay - I think that's all I was going to comment on.

Welcome. I understand...you have been sooo busy. And I am kind of trying to get that other TR done, so I have been neglecting this PTR a bit.

I think the Fantasy wil lbe in port on the 3rd, which is when we drive over to the Port area....but my families flight comes in around 6:10...so she'll be long gone by the time we get over there. I had hoped to get there and watch her, but it's not going to work out. But we'll have most of the day to explore AKL a bit more.

That is a amazing photo!

Thanks!

Wow! Your uncle's yard is gorgeous! I so wish it weren't so hot and dry in our area so I could do something like that with my yard.

Pass along belated Happy Birthday to Paige for me!

Gotta love the Anderson's Sign hanging in the yard =)

I may have posted on one of your TRs before but I am from Maumee, Ohio and moved to Minneapolis in 2009 after graduating from OSU.

I miss the Anderson's. There isn't anything like that here. I am heading back to Maumee next Thursday for a wedding.

Looking forward to reading more.

He does have a gorgeous yard. He said he is done gardening for the rest of the year. LOL He worked long hours to have it perfect.

I think I do remember you. :thumbsup2 I used to work in the produce Dept at Andersons on Talmadge. I worked there several years and really liked it.
It looks like it might be cooler for you...It's been 100 here, but today was much nicer.

Wow! Beautiful garden!
I wish your uncle could come here and look after mine - it's NOTHING like that! ;) :lmao:

Thanks. I usually try to have nice flowers too...nothing like that...but this year I gave up. I can't get it weeded because we have been so dry. It's like pulling weeds out of concrete.

I know I need to do some Disney updating...but I have been working on some of my pictures from the last few weeks...so I'm gonna post more of those.

This is from June 30th. We watched the local towns fireworks. I did these handheld. I didn't even know the fireworks were that night till Paige called to ask if we wanted to meet. So I just grabbed my camera and left. I tried to prop my camera on the roof of the car somewhat to keep it more steady.

You did great handheld! I suck at fireworks, I've been told it's the lens, but I think it's me!

I agree she did an awesome job, especially for hand-held! I'm quite impressed!

Carey, I'm sorry to say, most any lens will work for fireworks (especially if you're using a tripod). The key is to get the camera stabilized and use a long-ish shutter speed. At Disney I use around 5-10 seconds.

Then the (apparently) not so help camera guy lied to me. He said I needed a faster lens. He was trying to push a lens on me, but it wasn't working. I don't get pushed.

Again, I need lessons from you!::yes::

LOL! Don't hang out with me. I'll be encouraging you to spend money on lenses too!

But I won't be encouraging you do to it for fireworks. You need a faster lens when 1) you want a faster shutter speed or 2) you want to use a shallower depth of field or 3) you want to make more commission for your lens salesman.

Since you want a pretty slow shutter speed and a longer depth of field for fireworks, you really don't need a fast lens.

Don't get me wrong, fast lenses are awesome. He just tried to sell you on the one time you don't need one. But you DO need t find a way to stabilize the camera. A remote shutter release is grand too, although you can get by without one in a pinch.

Yes, I think it's the user...I'm one of those users too. :rotfl:

Thanks. I took so many and those are the best. Some turned out just awful. I took some on Sat again...I haven't loaded them yet, but I should've used a different lens for those because they were too close and I cut out a lot. Also I had to keep aiming my tripod at where ever they would burst. LOL So that was a bit trickey. I think I might've gotten a few good ones though....even if they are cut off.
