OK - I'll dive right in and you are welcome to join me with your driving irritations!!

On a couple of mornings last week we had heavy frosts and so that left a lot of cars needing a good defrost before driving off.

However having just dropped my DS x 2 to school, I was driving along the main road minding my own business, when a car pulled out of a sideroad in front of me - thankfully the reflexes were surprisingly good for that time in the morning and I put the brake on in time and thank goodness the car behind me did too.

This person had zero visibility! Every one of his/her windows was totally iced up! I kept my distance the car made its way swerving from kerb to the middle of the road, and then on reaching a roundabout couldn't see the car on the roundabout and nearly piled into him as well.

By the time we reached the next roundabout, his car was defrosting and I could see into the car where he was crouched double over the steering wheel in order to see out of the plate size bit of windscreen that had defrosted.

This bothers me because outside the school a while ago, a woman turned into side road and knocked a child down who was already crossing the road. She was a mother bringing her children to school and "didn't have time" to de-ice her windows before she left the house - not only were they iced up but condensated badly inside.

BTW, after a spell in hospital the child recovered 100%.

Oh my:earseek:

I wouldn't dream of driving off unless I had good visability!

My grumble......indicators why don't people use them!!!!

Oh No Shirley:eek:

I think that is why there is so much road rage, because of people like that. They just have not thought for other drivers.

Kaylee I agree the no indicator thing annoys me too.

To drive with iced up windows is so stupid and potentially deadly.
The other day, this man was in front of me at the traffic lights and when they turned green,he proceeded to turn right and went down the high street which is one way, I tried to warn him by sounding my horn but he just glanced back and stuck the "V's" up at me:earseek:
Anyway, he had actually turned right into the traffic that was waiting at the other traffic lights!Did he realise his mistake and reverse out??
Oh no, that was beyond his mentality. He just mounted the pavement and continued to drive against the traffic all the way through the oncoming cars until he got to the turning for the supermarket he wanted to visit, that stunt must have cut a good 2 minutes off his journey.
This was a man aged about 50 and should know better.

My theory is that they must be optional extras on some cars! Why pay for indicators when you could have a couple of extra cup holders?

What irritates me about drivers???

Just about everything as i don't drive!!!!!!!;)

But seriously the indicator thing really p's me off esp. as i have to cross by a roundabout and the amount of drivers that don't indicate to show they're turning really aggravates me - esp when I get tooted for crossing!!!!!

Also when I cross at the main junction, the light changes to a green man so off we trot and the school buses that didn't get a chance to cross against the traffic when the lights were green decide to go - again I get tooted!!!!

And kids pressing the button at the junction when they have no intention of crossing  Just makes everyone mad!!!!

I have to agree that I think indicators come as optional extras with some cars.

I was sitting at a junction on Friday waiting to turn right and the amount of drivers that didn;t indicate that they were turning in was about ten. I must have sat waiting to turn out for about five minutes and last thing on a Friday night, that really ticks me off.

Shirley - what a totally stupid person, you just can't believe some people, can you.

I walk the kids up to school now I'm having time off work and it's quite a scary experience sometimes. Living in a small village the pavements are small and the road, although supposed to be 30mph, isn't. What gets me are the lazy mothers who just park their cars in the bus lay-by opposite school. They arrive there at about 2.45 (school clears out at 3.20) - some even park half on the road and in all this rain it's just complete stupidity. They'd be the first people to moan if anything ever happened to one of their children given the parking situation. We have two disabled children whose mothers can't park close enough because of these thoughtless people.

When I was working I have to leave Bournemouth at 2.30 to get back to Milford for 3.20 and still parked my car a mile away since all the good parking had gone. These women don't even work and live closer to school than I do

And speaking of the rain, people - PUT YOUR BLASTED LIGHTS ON! Darryl drives over 45,000 miles on business every year and he's seen all sorts of terrible driving, but even he can't believe the idiots driving right up someone's behind on the motorway in chucking down rain, over the speed limit with no lights on. I think it's the way people are taught - what other excuse can there be? It's the first thing I think of if it's dark - otherwise you can't see your speedo for a start:crazy:

Now you've really got me going:hyper: - my fave non-entities at the moment are foolish teenagers on :moped:. Learner plates up, totally clueless to what they're doing on busy roads. Chills me to the bone.

Ah, feel better now - great thread Shirley:D

How about rear fog lights which are on when it is not foggy.

Those people who put on their front fog lights for extra lighting.

For Christ sake they are designed for use in fog. They are high intensity lights designed for one thing and not to annoy people behind or in front of you.

My main gripe it. People who overtake and forget to look in their door mirror.

I have an advanced driving licence and ride a motorbike for pleasure.

I always give a car I am overtaking a VERY wide birth because so many times I am in the process of overtaking 2 cars and the car in front decides to pull out to overtake the one at the front and just not bother to look if someone is there.

Remember.

Mirrow, signal, and then make your move.

Another one for the list: sitting at traffic lights at night behind someone who has their foot on the brake so you get blinded with their hi-level brake lights!

You should have reported the driver to the Police. Imagine if he had of hit someone

jj........

My pet hates:

- tail gaters, especially on the motorway
- people who don't strap their children in - can you believe it??
- speeding, especially in residential areas
- people driving in inappropriate lanes, especially on the motorway
- people driving in the cycle lanes
- people with bull bars on their 4x4s
- people who don't park between the white lines in car parks......

.... and you've already mentioned the rest!

I want one of those electronic sign boards the police have on the backs of their cars to send messages to other drivers.

Grrrr.....
