UGH! Why can't I book my dining?

That actually makes a lot of sense. How do you do that or make sure that they are?

You can attempt it yourself, and some have been lucky and it worked. Member Services will assist if you can't get them linked. Since I got mine linked I have not had any problems with either site or booking dining at 180+ 10.

All my ADRs, my DVC reservation are on my MDE account and my DVC account and at the MDE account, I can print it all. Once you get linked, it is really is a nice system.

If you are talking about magical express...We aren't using it.

My Disney Experience on the main Disneyworld.com site and your DVC account have to be linked. You will have to have one user name and one password for both accounts.

All DVC members going forward will have to have this done to be able to book at 180+ 10 and also use the Fastpass system.

We had the same issues and could not even get our reservations made over the phone through CRO. We finally got in and Be Our Guest was gone. We were able to get Ohana though.

I'm sorry you did not get your Chefs table reservation. It could still come through.

The Queen's room is the same price without the personalized menus
I wonder if they would accommodate a request for those menus as a remembrance of your 45th anniversary celebration, if you called and asked.

Congratulations on approaching 45 years, Diane! It takes the combination of commitment and work from both of you, with the blessing of survival for both as well. ::yes:: I hope your waitlist comes through but that your celebration dinner at V&A will be WONDERFUL, either way! pixiedust:

Okay, so looks like I need to make a call to MS and try to get that accomplished.

Too bad there aren't instructions about that on the DVC site. It would make sense to have them there, so that's probably why they don't.:confused3

I am SO DISAPPOINTED! We are celebrating our 45th anniversary on our trip this December, and the highlight was going to be that we were dressing formally and doing the Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's. If I had known that I coudn't even do that on line at all, I would have called yesterday morning, but I thought I could book it online. Well, AFTER I called and got my other things booked (MS rep told me to wait with the V&A until we were done), I found out you can only do it by calling the restaurant directly. I quick got off the phone with MS and called V & A, but they were completely booked for Chef's Table all 10 days of our reservation. This was to be t he highlight of our celebration, and I blew it! SO MAD AT MYSELF for not insisting on doing the V & A first. I'm not at all happy that the MS rep didn't tell me that at the beginning of our conversation. He knew I was most anxious to book that, but he told me he had special instructions for that he would give me later. I think truth be known, he didn't KNOW the information when he told me that. The representative at the restaurant got us into the Queen's room, but we couldn't get Chef's Table that we wanted. She did put us on a waitlist though for ANY day of our trip. Keeping my fingers crossed it comes up!

Send me LOTS of pixie dust!pixiedust:

Diane, the same thing happened to us. We were hoping for the Chef's Table any night of our trip the week before yours to be the highlight of our 10th Anniversary trip. I couldn't book online and the concierge staff at AKV couldn't secure the reservation either. Like you we're shceduled for the Queen Victoria room and on the wait list. I will gladly send you pixie dust that it comes through if you will do the same for us.

We're checking in on December 15th too!!! At BLT.

I was able to make mine through the old site, no problems, yesterday. Got everything I wanted including BOG! So excited.

We are checking in Dec 17, so I made our dining reservations Thursday morning. I was able to access 180 + 10 from both the old and new sites and got everything we wanted. Including BOG for Christmas Eve. Glad it's done!

For those trying to access the old site. If it doesn't work, clear out all history/cache in your computer, then try again.

It should come up.

Do NOT click on anything other than "Where to Eat" then go to "Make Dining Reservations". If you start to click on "My Reservations" or anything else, it will take you the new site or give you an error message, which you don't want.

Once in that screen, pick your date that is in your +10. It will then tell you that you need to sign in and link your reservation because it is beyond 180 days. You'll have to sign in, enter your resort reservation number, last name, and check in date. Then it will take you back to the reservation screen where you can do your search, and now your reservation number is linked and you should be able to make all your ressies.

Thanks to this thread, I realized that I was almost a month into the period where I can make dining reservations. Fortunately, I got what I wanted today.

Diane, I hope that you get what you wanted. Know that your thread helped this silly goof get his dining reservations.

I want to apologize ahead of time for my ignorance! I have just recently signed into MDE. Once I did that, it changed my DVC login to the same thing as the MDE login info. I will be at my 180 days very soon and I want to make sure I have all this figured out ahead of time and am ready to try to get BOG for our New Years stay.

Sammie said above to make sure that DVC recognizes MDE and that MDE recognizes DVC. How do I make sure everything is in synch? If everything is in synch, do I use the new site for reservations or the old site?

I used to spend more time on the boards and stayed current with things, but life started getting in the way and I'm feeling so nervous about making our ADRs for our late Dec/ early January trip!

Can you see your DVC reservation listed on MDE, if so it should have linked them. Also it should list DVC as an affiliation on your MDE profile page.

As to dining, there is really no way to know until you actually try it. If they linked there is no need for the old site, but I guess you should prepare for the worst and have both ready.

Sammie, thanks so much! It shows the DVC trip for Dec/Jan and it lists my affiliation with DVC in the profile! Hopefully I'm all linked & can utilize the new site for ADRs. I'll have all the info for the old site ready just in case! Thanks for your help! It's probably been 13 years since we've had a " must have reservation" - since our 20 yo DD wanted CRT! None of my other DVC trips are listed, but I don't guess that matters since I only need ADRs for this trip!

Hope the WL comes through Diane.

Well, I just did something today that should have increased our chances of getting Chef's Table a little bit. I moved our reservation from the second day of our trip to the second to the LAST day of our trip. That way we will be able to stay on the wait list right up to the end. They had plenty of room at the Queen's table, but they couldn't tell me how many were ahead of me on the Chef's table wait list. UGH! I think this is the best I can do for now.

I could not get 180+10 to work properly on the new web site. I have my reservations linked on MDE. I have the same login and password. When I use the dining reservations links from the MDE pages, I can see my travel days highlighted (out beyond the normal 180-day limit), and I can reserve for any day that is available at 180 or less. If I try to reserve or view available times for any day after 180 but within the reservation time, I get an error message, something like "There was an error looking for reservations, please try again later."

By using the "old" link, I was able to get in and book everything, except Hoop De Doo for some reason. On the old site, it only showed availability for about 90 days instead of 180. So I had to call to reserve Hoop De Doo.

I tried IE 9 and 10, Firefox, and Chrome. Same results. Cleared cookies, tried logging in various ways.

One quirky thing is that on the new site as soon as I tried booking beyond 180 and got the error, the next time I tried to go back to the MDE start page it would ask me to log in again.

I have to say, the idea behind the site is perfectly fine, but the execution is not very solid.

Contact Members Services, they can help and by letting them know the problems you are having they can help others. When you sign into MDE and go to your profile, does it list DVC as an affiliation, if not the two accounts are not linked.

I was able to book the Chef's Table at V&E for my upcoming trip in November going through MDE. My resort reservation was showing up under My Reservations so I booked from the MDE start page. I wonder if you need to have your credit card linked too. I was having a problem until I was able to get it properly registered. I also used Safari on my Mac. I will sprinkle a ton of extra dust for all that need it! pixiedust:

It does list DVC as an affiliation. I knew the accounts were linked, since I created the DVC online account using the page for folks that already have a Disney account.

Ultimately through a combination of using the old site and calling in for a few things that didn't work, I got all my reservations. But man, it was harder and more frustrating than it needed to be.
