UGH! The elusive DTW-MCO $122.00 fare!

I just found a fare for Airtran out of DTW for 122.00 on Sidestep. When I clicked on it it directed me to Orbitz. After I went through all the steps, including payment, I got the "Fare not found" response. This is so irritating. I haven't been away from the computer for more than a few moments at a time today, for fear that I might miss it.

Try their website directly, it might even be a few dollars cheaper.

I booked a flight on NW out of DTW to MCO for 122. Just did it this week through expedia.

I missed the NW $122.00 flight by about 10 min. last week. I was hoping it would pop back up but I haven't seen it yet. We flew Airtran last year out of Flint and swore we would not go back to DTW, but Airtran out of Flint has been more expensive than DTW so far.

Even though I was directed by Orbitz to book the tickets through Airtan, when I went to the website the 122.00 fare did not exist. Interestingly enough, the 122.00 fare is still showing up on Orbitz and Sidestep. But I still get the same result when I go to book the flight Dagnabitt!!!!

What are your dates? I just checked for mine again just to see,and got a rate of 142 pp on Delta through expedia.

I'm so irritated with trying to buy airline tickets. The same exact thing happened to me where I went through the whole process, even cc info, to get the "sorry, no tickets" message. I'm planning this whole trip for my friends' family and now they are screaming at me to get the plane tickets. My friend's mom thinks we won't be able to get tickets (we're going 10/21-28). I told my friend to just do it herself, but nope, I have to!!!!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, sorry guys, thanks for letting me vent.
I think I'm just going to call a travel agent on Monday. However, any ideas are welcome. I don't want to pay top dollar for plane tickets, but am I waiting too long to buy them? As an aside, we've booked the rest of our stay with Small World Tours who don't book air, ugh!!
I'm actually thinking about cancelling small world and booking with someone who will just book my airline as part of a package.

I booked mine a little bit ago for $89. Today I noticed my dates (October) are now $49
First time I've ever done anything this far ahead. My DH was convinced they wouldn't get any cheaper. I booked through Air Tran directly. (their website)

Holy cow...just checked the air tran site...got flights quoted for $49 one way. Could have saved some money, but fortunately for us, only about $15, otherwise I would be kicking myself!!
