Okay, I assume you're trying to help even though you're mocking me in your first sentence. Let me explain, there is NOTHING more important than doing something fun as a FAMILY. I feel our family time is disintergrating and that is a MOUNTAIN.

Right, because family fun time can only be had in Disney. There isn't a single place on this earth other than Disney where a family can enjoy themselves. Kauai absolutely SUCKS as a place for families.

But seriously, I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and just say you were venting and came off a little harsh. I get it. Life can be disappointing. You want to go, kids are growing up fast, husband doesn't have time. I think we can all relate to that. However, in this economy, there are hard times for everyone so we all need to be more careful than ever watching what we say. Saying we should thank you isn't really thoughtful. Lots of people give for what they believe in. I hope you get your trip soon. Lets leave the president and political name calling out of it. Kay?

Family time happens 52 weeks a year, not just during the 2 annual trips to Disney. You said your kids are involved in activities - that IS "family time". Your husband has new responsibilities so he feels he needs to settle into his new job for awhile before asking for time off. That is not the same as bringing an end to your family trips or your family fun time. You probably wind up skipping one trip. Find some other way to make up that time. It isn't that big of a deal.

You know, I sometimes find myself working 60-70 hours a week & it's frustrating. The kids are still asleep when I leave before 5:00 a.m. and they're ready for bed by the time I get home. It sucks, but it's times like that that allow me to be able to afford family vacations, and some years the $$ isn't there. Everything's a tradeoff. You've just got to make the best of it.

As for mocking you. Sorry, but you just came off as WAY too over the top to be real. To be honest, you still do.

I have a great idea!!!
Why don't you pay for all our vacations, and live vicariously through us. This way you could feel super superior AND like you contributed to the economy of the little people. The added bonus to this is no one insults someone's politics and beliefs. A win-win for all. How is that for liberalism???

Seriously? Can someone not share their sadness about missing Disney on a DISNEY FAN site??? Isn't that why we are all here? For our love of Disney?

I too have had to cancel or miss trips for great reasons (pregnancy) and not so great reasons (ill father) but no matter what the reason I was still bummed about not being able to go. If that makes me a bad person or "shallow" person then so be it!!

I had to Google it, it's a blizzard outside, but I may have to run to the store. Yum!!

Dole Whip Recipe:
2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.
Blend the pineapple, lemon and lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice until it is smooth.
Freeze about 1-2 hours.
Stir the pineapple slush into the whipped cream and freeze. Serve when completely frozen.
