We have never done the waterparks. I am pregnant so other than pools or gentle lazy rivers I won't do much. DH loves taking the kids on attractions. Which park would be better for our 6yo and 3 yo?

Blizzard Beach has a much better area for younger kids. That would be my vote.

This, plus a MUCH better family raft ride & several fun slides the 6 year old can do.

TL has some great features, but none of the "best" things at TL are appropriate for little ones.

Another vote for Blizzard Beach. We went last year with our 4 and 9 year olds and it was their favorite park of the entire trip!

I agree about Blizzard Beach for a younger child - even though I prefer Typhoon Lagoon overall. Another thing to keep in mind: Typhoon Lagoon has an awesome wave pool, but it could be too rough for a 6 year old. Blizzard Beach's wave pool is much tamer and smaller.

BB has great kids' stuff - Tike's Peak is for kids under 48" (or something like that) and has shallow water, and then Ski Patrol has stuff for bigger kids and has swimming-depth water. The wave pool at BB is much calmer and won't slam you around like TL's does most of the time, and the lazy rivers are pretty similar except for the theming.

I don't know that there's much your husband could actually go on with the kids at either of the water parks - I don't think adults are allowed on the kids' slides with them (I could be wrong but I don't think I've seen it happening). There is a family raft ride in each park - I've never been on either one (I'm a solo traveler and water slides with strangers is weird for me, lol), but based on videos I've seen, they might be a bit too intense for a 3-year-old (but I could be wrong here too, as I interact with very few 3-year-olds). For what it's worth, I've heard BB's is better.

BB also has some great thrill slides if your husband is interested in doing those on his own. :thumbsup2

So yeah, I personally prefer TL, but if I had kids I'd go to BB. :)

Oh DH will definitely be doing that LOL!
Thanks for the info.

Anyone know how the family raft ride is thrill level wise? I've been on some that are really chill and being pregnant would be fine for me. Some obviously (kali river rapids style) are a no way.

The family raft ride at BB is maybe a hair tamer than Kali. Speed wise similar, but no giant waves of water rushing into the raft. I see lots of little tykes on there.

I missed the part about you being pregnant before. If you think Kali is too intense, you probably won't be able to do any of the family raft rides. You'll be limited to the wave pool and the lazy river.

Honestly, are you sure you want to do a water park at all? It doesn't sound like you or your kids will be able to do most of the rides and slides. It might make more sense to enjoy the resort pool for no extra money. :)

I second this. I like both waterparks for different reasons, but when my kids were younger, Blizzard definitely had more to do for them. I actually prefer it overall, other than the incredible wave pool at Typhoon.

My son's is now 6 years old and we have been taking him to Disney since a week after his first birthday. He loves BB way more than TL, and always has. He rode Teamboat Springs family raft ride at BB when he was 18 months old and did the purple mountain toboggan rides (foam rafts with handles at the front the kids can ride down on their stomachs) on his 3rd birthday and loved it. The only things a 3yo and 6yo could not do at BB are the two big speed slides, but they are tall and old enough to experience all the other rides and slides and attraction areas.

Also, my wife points out the absolutely, most important feature of BB when she was there 6 months pregnant: the Ski Lift! Being able to take the ski lift to the top of the mountain for TeamBoat springs and the purple mountain slides really enabled her to enjoy the water park without over-exerting herself.
