Tyler...Resort to Resort Question!!!

Tyler (all knowing god of WDW transportation!!)-

Can you help me??? We have a room only at POP our first night, then our package kicks in the next morning when we check in to AKL. I know I could take a bus from POP to AK, then from AK to AKL, but I would rather go direct. Taxi it is! No biggie for us.

My question is: do the resorts have taxis available 24-7 (like Vegas) so when I walk to the check out desk and out of the resort, there will be any number of taxis waiting? Or do I need to call in advance?

Further question: if I need to call in advance, is there a company you would recommend? We are 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and almost 4).

Call or stop at the valet station about five minutes before you need your taxi.. They will call for you.

The only taxi company allowed to solicit for business on disney property is Checker Cab, (407)422-2222, and this is the company that the front desk or bell desk will call for you. Lew is right, most times they can get a taxi for you pretty quickly.

When I worked at Pop Century, I would come in every morning at 6:45am. There was always a taxi waiting out front. Then, there would always be 1-3 taxis staged in the parking lot, waiting for the first one to get a fare.

In the unlikely case that there is no taxi out front, the luggage folks can get one for you rather quickly.
