Hi All, I am a first time Cruiser and looking to travel on Disney's Fantasy next year for the 7 nights western carribean. we will have 3 adults (me plus my parents) plus my two kids (5/6yrs old). my questions is would it be better to get one deluxe oceanview with V, or 2 inside connecting stateroom? both will be mid ship, the deluxe on deck 10 and the inside stateroom on deck 8. both options comes out at same price. thanks in advance for any suggestions!

It depends, can you all stand each other in a confined space for a week? Then go for the verandah room.

The two room option will give you the most flexibility, with two bathrooms, two TVs, and either all the adults in one room and the kids in the other, or you and kids in one and grandparents in the other.

We dont mind each other at all! but do want the flexibility. so hard to decided (great problem to have :-) )

We opted for 2 rooms to have more square footage and more bathrooms. But we chose ocean view to also have some natural light and view.

not a bad idea, i will ask my TA to see what that option would cost. tks!

If it's not important for the rooms to actually connecting (you'd need to be in the room with your kids), how about looking into a verandah room (not necessarily a Deluxe Family one) with an inside across the hall? Then you'd have the 2 bathrooms, plus the use of a verandah on occasion.

As a family of 4 who've taken 4 cruises in connecting insides and 1 with all 4 of us in a verandah. I will say, without a doubt, do the connecting insides. Our next 3 cruises are all connecting insides, it's really worth it for us.

if price isnt an issue ( and sometimes 2 connecting is cheaper).... i prefer the two connecting. two tvs, 4 sinks, two showers.

we are a family of 5 and we've done the verandah, ocienview and two connecting. However, I personally was not completely comfortable with my young kids and a verandah. so that does influence my choice.

with that, we are booked for a family panoramic on RCL which is just one room with the bunks in a separate section because i wanted the big windows even though we couldve gotten connecting rooms.

I would go with 2 rooms. Your parents could have their own space that way. The rooms start feeling awfully small when everyone is in them at the same time. If you decide to look at oceanview, look at a lower deck with 1 porthole. The lower decks tend to be cheaper. We did the Wonder Alaska this summer, when I was looking at rooms, the oceanview on deck 2 cost less than the inside on decks 6/7, and I 'needed' to be able to see outside (and didn't want to spend another $3,000 to get a verandah.)

We've recently returned from a 7 night cruise on the Magic. We had 2 rooms with interconnecting doors and it was brilliant! Having the door between the two rooms was great for putting the kids to bed (but us still being able to get to them if they woke up in the night). Also the extra bathroom was brilliant. Our party was 2 adults and 3 children (aged 2, 4 and 8).

The other concern we had was that the veranda room, which was the only one that we could see for 5 people and I was worried about our climbing little 4 year old. As it turned out, 2 x ocean view 3 person rooms was slightly cheaper than the 5 person veranda room as well so :-D!

another vote for 2 connecting rooms, I LOVE my parents to death but don't know if I could be in such a small space for a week. We left the connecting doors open all the time except night and it was great b/c the kids could roam back and forth.

Those are great cabins, plus you still get a true 1.5 bathrooms, only 1 shower but 2 sinks and 2 toilets. Can you imagine what DCL could sell those for if they put them as concierge?? Even though it's only 1 room, they sleep 6 and have amazing views. I can't believe how inexpensive they are on RCCL.

I vote 2 rooms. We were on the Magic in January with me, my husband, 2 kids (3 and 5) and my mom. We did 2 connecting oceanview rooms. It was perfect. We even gave both the kids to my mom a couple of nights. And when pricing out, we didnt find it to be too much more than 1 larger room and we had a lot more sanity in the end.

For us 2 rooms works out better for our family of 5. We like have 2 bathrooms and the extra space. We usually book 2 adjoining OV rooms, but on our most recent cruise, we booked 2 adjoining inside rooms.

My aunt, cousin, cousin's hubby and two kids shared a balcony room on Dream. They seemed as happy as they ever do. They made it work.

I'm sure two rooms would have been nicer though.

one deluxe oceanview with V

What does that mean? I was thinking you meant category V but that doesn't match the rest of the description.

Faboo room. We are a family of three so can't get that room. But we made do (hahahahah)
with 1864 on Freedom. Poor us with the giant wedge shaped room and acre of windows.

we would like it to connect to ease of taking care of kids, that way sometimes mommy gets a break :-)

You liked the inside staterooms as well? no issues not seeing the ocean or having natural night?
