Two Reasons Why I Would Not Do Online Check In at Poly Villa and Bungalows

Well yes maybe my tolerance for things that to me are small, are large for others.

No, my tolerance is very high. I have many faults - many :goodvibes, but I can assure you a lack of tolerance isn't one of them. And this isn't even about tolerance, it's about a system not working properly.

Once again, it's not a small issue Sammie. I assure you.

And I will support DVC and Disney over and over and over. And will continue to but on the website, I can not. It's an ongoing and extensive issue. And they might not even know how extensive it is (me being tolerant! :goodvibes;)), so it is helpful - for them and for us -to keep them in the loop.

As to downtime for maintenance and such again I guess that depends on what one compares it to.

At the most basic I use a simple comparison. Any and all other sites I regularly visit online. None, and I 100% mean none, have as much user interfering "maintenance". I'd dare to say that Disney matches downtime in a 1-2 week time for what I might potentially run into across the rest of my online time for a year. This covers small mom and pop operations, mid size business and other large corporate sites.

I wouldn't have had a clue where to go or what to do either - other than dropping my stuff off at Bell Services. I've never stayed there so wouldn't have an idea where to find my room.

As a new Poly DVC owner, it's good to know not to do on-line check in the first time I stay there so I'll get the full check in experience. (I know, not good to choose a home resort without experiencing it first but after 5 years of trying to talk my husband into DVC and him loving the Poly rooms that's what we ended up with. LOL)

Thanks for letting us know!

We stayed at Poly last June and wound up getting the whole treatment even though we did online check in. I think that was more because it was our first visit on DVC (we rented that time and bought then) and wanted to make sure we weren't missing anything and also because we wanted to know how it worked (Magic bands were new for us that trip). So we went to the front desk even though we got our text message, just to find out what the deal was. I would say though, I would expect this at ANY of the resorts if you do online check in. I simply would not expect them to bring lei's to the room or the welcome packet. If I want to know what's going on, I'll go find out.

We are the opposite: the less face time, the better. Don't bog me down with anything not on my agenda (I'm being extreme). I'd rather not have extra items that the kids never want to get rid of- don't have it, don't have to convince them to part with it.

The resort maps and activity pages should be available with an app. I lost the papers every time. The check in packets- we don't keep.
