I jst got back from our shortest trip ever. We went down to see space and came back having seen a lot more!

Space is the most amazing ride ever! You experience G forces that cannot be felt on anything else as well as weightlessness (this is brief but good!)

We also saw the Philharmagic - I think Disney put this in for the little kiddies at MK so they could experience a 3D movie that wasn't scary (this was needed since muppets can get a bit frightning for the wee ones) I loved it too, however, uncharacteristic to Disney the way the crowd was handled for the show was abismal...we treked slowly through a line (not unusual) but when the line ended there was nothing...nothing to look at nothing to do, just a mob of people! we waited in this cue area for about 10min before anything happened. A little disapointed in that aspect!

The other surprise was that the sets from the Haunted Mansion movie were at MGM (where one man's dream is) As a huge HM fan I was pleasently surprised! They had all sorts of props and drawings, sketches etc. but the piece de resistance was the original set from the ballroom scene! Wow! If you are a HM fan at all you NEED to go see this. It is/was truely amazing.

If you have any more questions I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Can you explain a little more about the sets you saw at MGM? Were they sketches or scenery? I'm not sure I understood.

Lucky you having just returned. Thanks for the info!

Thanks,

penny

"Beginning in early October, Disney-MGM Studios guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at sets, props and costumes from the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures film The Haunted Mansion, which opens in theaters on Nov. 26. Located in Soundstage 4 on Mickey Avenue, The Making of The Haunted Mansion Movie attraction will include the mansion’s massive ballroom set, pipe organ, grand staircase, fireplace and more. Guests also will see costumes from the film, view a behind-the scenes video
presentation and learn about some of the techniques filmmakers used to create the film. Walt Disney Imagineering Show Producer Theron Skees said he hopes guests visiting the exhibit gain a new appreciation, not only for the technical aspects of the movie, but the rich story, as well.
“We want guests to leave [the new exhibit] with a feeling that it’s not just
the special effects and wizardry of the film that make it great; it’s also a great story,” Theron said. While Soundstage 4 has been home to several behind-the-scenes attractions, this will be the first to open before the
showcased film debuts in theaters. WDI Show Writer Jason Surrell, whose
new Disney Press book The Haunted Mansion: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies will hit stores next month, said guests visiting the exhibit will see familiar touches of horror and humor. “The [original] attraction and the film are a great balance of horror and laughs,” Jason said. “That balance is something the entire family can enjoy.”"
