Two Castles and a Polynesian Dream (A Wedding & a Disneymoon) Update*Mr & Mrs*

I love your favors. They are very unique. :goodvibes

The Jordan almonds are very traditional in Greece as well. You're always suppose to have an odd number of almonds in your favors...well, that's the week us Greeks do it anyway. :upsidedow

I really love your favors!!

Love those for the favours Stefy! really unusual :goodvibes

And thank you for sharing your engagement story.. it sounded like it was really lovely :lovestruc

Happy weekend! sooo excited for this unusual sunny warm English weather! ;)

Emma princess: x

Thanks :) We looked at the options for the favours and we're that impressed. Although there were nice they were just too blah and then our wedding coordinator showed us these and we instantly wanted them.

Hope you are having a good weekend in this glorious sunshine :)

Great favors Stefy! (We spell it without the 'u' :lmao:) I absolutely LOVE the colors of your wedding. Everything is going to be so beautiful!

Thanks :) Yes we do tend to use our "u" is some other words as well like colour etc and we don't use z's in things like utilising etc Strange that :upsidedow

They are lovely! I think they are unique, and useful, which our favours certainly weren't. :lmao: (they were, however, filled with scotch, so our guests forgave us).

I also think the almonds are a perfect touch for an Italian wedding (health, happiness, long life, kids, and wealth!):goodvibes

Please tell me you'll have a torta di choux so I can live vicariously though you. :worship:

Ooh your favours sound good :teeth:

Thanks :) I will have a look out for a torta di choux, it looks delicious

Sounds like a perfect afternoon! Tomorrow it will be 90 here in Missouri, and I'm hoping to go to the zoo! The favors are so unique! I know your guests will love them!

Thanks :) Did you make it to the zoo?

It sure has been - enjoy the bbq. It sure is good weather for it! :thumbsup2

The gifts sure look cute - what a great idea! I also like the sound of the ribbon :)

Thanks :) Can't wait to see how the ribbon turns out, its been dispatched so hopefully will get it in tomorrows post.

Hi,
I got a little behind this week on my reading, things were very busy with work.
I love your invitations, orange is one of my favorite colors. It is such a happy color and you are honeymooning in FL. The official state fruit of FL is the orange!

Your engagement story is beautiful, how romantic and thoughtfully done. You both are a great match you take the time to really think about the other person and making things special, that is very important. Your ring is lovely, really a classic style, nicely done Dave.

Your gifts for the guest, again how thoughtful, very unique and useful.
Hope you both have a fantastic weekend.

Thanks :) Glad you're all caught up, hope work isn't too stressful :)

Ah yes Oranges are FL state fruit and I do love a good orange now and then too. So we got a little bit of Florida in our wedding (we do have a few little Disney surprises in there too ;) ).

The favors are so unique and beautiful, I love them!!! :goodvibes

Thank you :) I had never seen anything like it before and thought perfect, exactly what I was looking for favour wise :)

Great wedding favors, Stefy.

Thanks Kathy :)

Those are gorgeous favors. I love them and the pretty wrapping around it too!

Thank you :) They should turn out pretty good :)

I think the Almonds are a tradition in most European countries, although I don't thin the odd number is. Why is it that you have to have an odd number?

those are great favours, I love them!!!!

Thank you :)

Those wedding favors are adorable! And I love the personalized ribbon! :)

Thanks :)

In Greek, the favors are called Bombonieres. They are always filled with an odd number of almonds. The odd number is indivisible and symbolizes the union and indivisibility of the newly married couple - or the union of the baptized child with his Godparents since they are also given as favors at a baptism.

Thanks for that, I like it :) I like to try and keep with some of the old traditions and am glad we are including the almonds :)

Hello All

How are we doing today?

We had a great weekend. We stayed round our friends house and had ourselves a little bbq yesterday which was glorious. Another reason for visiting was to check out the area they live in as we could potentially be moving there ourselves towards the end of this year.

Its not a bad little town, just under 30mins from where we live by train and not a bad route to get to and from by car. We're still not set on where we are going to start looking, but we won't rule that area out. Its pretty neat as it has a local cinema, shopping area, high street and two large grocery outlets that are in walking distance. One thing that is very in its favour is that there is a Starbucks right there 5min walking distance (as opposed to the one near us which takes about 20mins to get to on foot). Love me a peppermint hot chocolate in the morning :teeth:

Anywho, enough on that. So I've shown you the venue, favours, invites etc Do you want to see the flowers?

It took a while to find something that I liked as I am not big on flowers and have no knowledge whatsoever. I researched online, asked my coordinator lots of questions and even rang round florists and went to check out certain types of flowers.

These are just some of the few designs I liked the look of:-

I'm guessing your seeing a theme here ;) We did for a while settle for sure on this design.

Until I saw this

So this is the final design no more tweaking changing my mind etc They are mango calla lilies with smaller white calla lilies. I think they work perfectly together and will go with my dress. Can't wait to check them out on our check list day in Italy.

Am thinking about loosing the white pearls and see if the florist can incorporate these (sorry for the smallness of the picture) into them

What do you think? Too much? The pearls really do finish it off so maybe it shouldn't be tweaked, but you know me. I defo will have a Hidden Mickey somewhere in there :teeth:

Buttonhole wise, am thinking this with a bit more greenery for Dave and his groomsmen

I love the colors of the flowers! They are so beautiful! I was just like you....totally clueless on flowers! We went to one florist and she was getting frustrated with me because she was naming flowers and I was just like :confused3 never heard of it, sorry! That is why I just went with red roses for me, white roses for the girls - DONE!

The final design you chose is just gorgeous! You know I'm all about the hidden mickeys but I'm not sure how those beads. Not sure the colors really match and the white pearls just look so beautiful! Maybe do a mickey with pins on the ribbon? Don't mean to knock your idea...just wanted to give me opinion! I'm sure whatever you decide will be wonderful!

Am glad you had a good time and liked the area you may be considering moving to. Having a Starbucks near to home sure rocks!! :cool1: I have to travel in to town but see my coffee as more of a treat when I am able to buy one :)

Love the flowers - they look gorgeous though have to agree that I prefer the pearls in the pictures - they look perfect as they are though see how you feel and go with what you thinks looks right :)

The flowers are gorgeous! I love the mango calla lilies. By the way, I work at Starbucks. I usually only drink water or black americanos at work though. I'll occasionally let myself have a treat though. It's so hard to resist all that sweet stuff when I'm surrounded by it.

Sorry I haven't posted earlier, but you know WHAT I have been preoccupied with! ;)

Wow! What gorgeous flowers you picked! They look just incredibly awesome! :thumbsup2

And your invitations and favours are just beautiful! :goodvibes

Your engagement story is just so sweet and magical! :cloud9: Well done, Dave!

Okay I had to sub, what a sweet proposal story and that picture was just amazing of CSR from a phone camera.

Getting married in Italy and Lago di Garda, wow, not the typical place, most people don't spend much time in Northern Italy (other than Venice) so that is so cool. My parents are from a town about an hour outside of Venice and I've been to Garda, just beautiful. Can't wait to hear all about this wedding. Those flowers, Mango Cala Lily...hello...simply stunning. We did the traditional Almonds for favors as well to bring the Italian tradition into our small American wedding. So classic. Love it all. I just can't wait to see all the pictures!!!

Stefy, those flowers are GORGEOUS! Personally, I prefer them with the pearls- I love the bouquet in that picture exactly as is!

Stefy,
Your flowers are beautiful, I have never heard of Mango Calla Lillies before, they are stunning.

It is exciting to look at new places to move but can get tiresome. You will know when it is the right spot, I agree having things like Starbucks and shopping close by is important. When in doubt be closer than further, 20 minutes doesn't seem like much to pick something up at the store but 5 minutes so much easier after a long day, have a great week!

Thanks :) Roses are a classic and looks beautiful in bouquets.

Yeah you're most prob right about the Mickey Heads, too much colour :thumbsup2

Thanks :) I used to get a Starbucks every Saturday when I went down Oxford St, but now not so much. It is a nice little treat, esp the Frappas, I had my first one of the year yesterday, strawberries and cream :teeth:

Thanks, the pearls do finish it off don't they :)

Can't believe I missed these. Thanks :) It must be v tempting working in Starbucks not to have a sneaky frappa here and there.

your flowers are beautiful!!!
Thank you :)

Yes I do know what you have been preoccupied with, lucky girl :)

Thank you for the lovely comments, is nice to share with you all :)

Hi and :welcome: Thanks for reading along and for your lovely comments.

Lake Garda is just beautiful and serene, we are so excited to be going back and getting married at that!

Do your parents still live there? Those little towns out of the main part are so quaint :)

Stefy, those flowers are GORGEOUS! Personally, I prefer them with the pearls- I love the bouquet in that picture exactly as is!

Thanks :) I think I will leave it as it is as like you all say there is nothing to add or change its perfect as it is :)

Thanks :) There are so many names/colours for Calla Lilies I started to get a bit overwhelmed with them all, but I kept coming back to Mango, saw them in the flesh and fell in love :)

I'm excited to look at places (will be doing it when we get back from honeymoon). I have already looked online and some of the houses are lovely and perfect for us. I must admit that being out of London will be different and I know I will miss it at times, but you get so much more for your money than you do here and another good thing will be that it will force us to get on out there and take our driving lessons, as as much as the transport is ok here, I don't want to have to depend on it.

I love having Starbucks as a treat! :thumbsup2 They sure have some great drinks...oooh am just picturing a Strawberries and Cream and could have one right about now!!

Yes, the pearls sure do finish off the flowers - am glad your keeping them that way :)

I do love the flowers! I think you should go wtih whatever you want, but if you do the beads, stay minimal. I had Cymbidum orchids, freesia, and peacock feathers.... everyone thought it was insane, but they only put one two or three in the bouquet. It didn't take away from the classic style of the flowers, but it also made it "mine."

Though, I don't think you can go wrong with the pearls, or with nothing but the flowers, they are so brilliant. (Maybe use the same types of beads as the push pins if you are doing french tied?
