Tony’s Town Square, around 5:30 p.m.
Originally we planned on Tony’s our last night at Magic Kingdom, but it fit in our schedule better the 24th because the park was open until 2 a.m. Luckily they were taking walk-ins, so within fifteen minutes, we were seated in the main dining room near the fountain. (This gave me time to wring out my rain-soaked clothes, anyway.) Our waitress was from Sandusky, Ohio but instead of talking about how Disney World is sooo much better than Cedar Point, we placed our drink and entrée orders. I got water (dolled up by some lemons) and spaghetti without meat and Mom ordered a Coke and lasagna. Shortly, warm rolls with herbed olive oil were delivered (we’re not big fans of white bread but it was soft and warm) and not long after, our entrees.
Spaghetti Without Sweet Italian Sausage or Meatballs: $16.99 and Tony’s Lasagna, layered with ground beef, sausage, mozzarella and ricotta: $17.99

I have to admit, the lasagna looked (and according to Mom was) delicious! The portion size was perfect and she loved the marinara sauce and mix of cheeses. Although I love pasta and have had Tony’s spaghetti before, I was disappointed with it this time. Instead of focusing on quality (and this happens at most Disney restaurants), Tony’s was focused on quantity. I was very surprised that it was just marinara sauce and pasta, very little seasoning and spice. All in all, the setting of Tony’s is great, but your food experience really depends on what you order. We will likely come back, although I’ll order soup and salad instead of $17 spaghetti!

Main Street Bakery, around 11:30 p.m.

After meeting the guy of my dreams at Wishes, we went to the Main Street Bakery to get a snack I was dying to try: the ice cream cookie sandwich. Luckily at this time there was no wait, so I had my chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream sandwich right away (It could just be me but I think I got an extra scoop of ice cream courtesy of a very attractive cast member). Also, Mom ordered a chocolate brownie and I got a bottled water.

Needless to say, this "snack" was a monster. I literally felt like Adam from Man Versus Food. The sandwich had to be at least two pounds-two plate sized cookies and practically a pint of ice cream. I would joke, "I'm just eating a light snack." Taste-wise, it was okay. If I would have got another flavor of ice cream and the cookies were softer, it would have been better. I would definitely recommend splitting it, because most of it will go to waste if not.

Mom loved her brownie, too. The portion size was massive as well, but it looked small compared to the ice cream sandwich! These snacks are great if you're on a budget and you're looking for a sweet treat, as both were under $4.

Hi
I'm veggie and love reading your reviews! I haven't eaten meat in 17 years and can always find plenty to eat at DW. O'hanas had a great veggie dinner for me when I was there. It was rice on the bottom, with tempura vegetables, tofu (which I don't like) and rice noodles on top with a delicious sauce. It was so huge, that there was no way one person could eat it all, so I shared with my friends and they loved it. Can't wait to hear more of reviews!! Thanks!!

That dish sounds great!

Sorry I am late but I am joining in now!
I love Disney veggie burgers and the ones at Pecos Bill's are really good :)
You do know that you can ask for iced water at the counter service restaurants don't you?
You don't have to drink 'swamp water' from the bathrooms :)

Yes they are! Haha, yes we knew but I remembered after we got out of the line! We should really trademark the name "swamp water." We were down in the Everglades the day before we left for Orlando and our driver kept calling Florida water swamp Okeechobee water. I guess it stuck. :rotfl:

I'm really enjoying your reviews. Thanks for taking your time to share them. It has been years since I have been to Ohana, and I think it may be time for a return visit.

Great reviews so far! I know it sounds silly, but after reading your reviews I'm really in the mood for a Mickey waffle with strawberry topping. :thumbsup2

Subbing! Loving the vegetarian review! Keep 'em coming! :surfweb:

I always love reading about other vegetarian meals!

Another thing for Pecos Bill - if you are not a fan of the veggie burger you can also order the taco salad without meat and you get a discounted empty shell which you fill at the bar. I had that last time and it was decent.

Love that ice cream sandwich! I may have to try that this time.

Looking forward to more.

HOLY COW that ice cream sandwich is huge and yummy looking. Can't wait to try one of those in about a week :cheer2:

The e and only time we had the ice-cream cookie sandwich from Main Street Bakery, we split it between 4 of us and it was still HUGE. Kudos to yu for attempting to eat it alone. And fair play for getting the extra scoop of ice-cream. My friend and I got an extra shot in our cocktail a couple of years ago courtesy of a very cute (and far too young for either of us) barman at Kidani :rotfl: Gotta love free stuff :thumbsup2

Heya Jules! Just letting you know I'm checking in, can't wait to read about all of the yummy food! Now to read all four pages............................................ :)

I am enjoying your review! Our trips overlapped (June 19-27), I am a vegetarian AND from Ohio...so I am all ears! ;) Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed with the food on this trip...so I definately need to make changes next time!

Wow! Small world! Yeah, I felt pretty underwhelmed on this trip, too, but I found some great meals and some not so great. :goodvibes
